Lesson to be learned here--don't judge a person until you know for sure what really happened!! When a recovering alcoholic and drug user is found dead in the backseat of his car it was hard not to assume he gave himself an overdose. Luckily Brigid and the Sheriff kept looking for the true reason!! They had to interview many aquaintances and co workers of the deceased before they found out what really happened!! Jett was very helpful in apprehending the culprit!!

Meanwhile there is something the matter with Brigid's and Fiona's friend. It took a bit but they didn't give up and now know what the matter is and will be able to help her!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

A dead man is found in the backseat of his own car. A medical emergency? Or something far more sinister? Like murder? And he was a recovering addict. Could he have overdosed on drugs?

That’s what Brigid and Sheriff Davis need to find out when they begin to assess the situation. Even though the dead man, Frankie, had been successful at fighting his addiction, when it comes to an ex-addict’s death, there seems to be a built-in bias that they’ve slipped, and their death was a result of that slip. As they work on the case, Brigid has to fight her own bias of thinking that way.

But as they begin to talk to the people Frankie knew, like his ex-wife, a picture evolves of an ex-addict doing everything he could possibly do to stay clean. He desperately wants to reconcile with his wife, and he knows the reason she left him was because of his drug abuse, which is all the more reason for him to stay clean.

Did someone hate Frankie enough to murder him and then put him in the backseat of his car? When the coroner’s report comes back that Frankie died of an overdose, it seems like a pretty open and shut case. But why would someone overdose in the backseat of their own car that was parked next to a gas station?

None of it makes sense, at least not to Brigid and Sheriff Davis, and so they continue to try and find out exactly what happened in the time period right before Frankie’s death.

And when they do discover the truth, it’s a very good thing that Brigid’s big Newfoundland dog and her husband decide to help!

I try very hard not to judge - I have been burned though by believing someone had changed and had not - but still I rather err on the side of kindness.

Yes, once your husband cheats on you then you do tend to question some of his behaviors.

I try not to judge on past behavior but too often I've seen that the old behavior takes over. I tend to be somewhat guarded for that reason.
