Lalla Bains is a trouble magnet--not that she tries to be--things just happen. Two husbands down her modeling career om NYC over and done with she works as a crop duster pilot/manager in her fathers business. Of course her long time friend who happens to be the sheriff is always trying to either get her out of trouble or save her whichever comes first!
She managed to get a Cadillac in the divorce from her 2nd husband--which she had painted a Cherry Red. When said vehicle is found in the lake with a dead woman inside---Lalla wants to know who had stolen her Caddy--and why was there a dead woman inside. She turned super sleuth much to the consternation of her friend and her father. Then someone tried to sideswipe her sending her to the hospital.
Lots of twists and turns and misdirection until the culprit is found--I really did not see this one coming!!
