An old woman found dead in her house--Not only was the house a total mess but she had an awful lot of dogs!! And I mean a LOT!! They all had to be brought to the local shelter which was run by a really nice, but slightly confused older lady who really did not know how to be mean! It took Sheridan and several volunteers to get all the dogs to the shelter. Then because there were far too many--Sheridan had to call other shelters to see if they could take some!

When the son and daughter are told--and they showed up-the daughter is devastated. It took days to clean it out with several people helping. Meanwhile the son was not the most likable person!

So who gets the house ultimately--and what happened to all the dogs? Lots of twists and turns as the police try to find who murdered the old woman!

This book will keep you turning the pages. I found it quite enjoyable!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

An abandoned house, an abundance of dogs. And a dead body or two.

Sheridan Hendley’s volunteer position at Pets and Paws takes a new turn when more than twenty malnourished dogs are found at a rundown house on the outskirts of town. When the body of an elderly woman is found amidst mountains of clutter in the house, a search of the property leads to startling revelations. And another body. While Herman Stoneham’s death is deemed natural causes, his wife’s is not. Where did all the dogs come from and who’s responsible for Justine’s untimely death? Are the two connected? With dogs and murder at stake, Sheridan can't help but get involved in the investigation. If you love dogs and mysteries, this one is for you.
