Book Review-Murder in the Pearl District (Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery Series Book 5)-Dianne Harman

Thursday, April 23, 2015

Kelly is definitely a magnet for trouble and that trouble seems to include murders which she absolutely promises her Sheriff husband that she will not get involved in solving. Of course she is also always crossing her fingers behind her back!! Thank heavens she always has her dog and a gun with her--or I don't think her husband would let her go out of the house--EVER.

This time she is off to the Pearl District to help a friend out with a dinner party that is being held in honor of another chef!! Kelly is nervous but decides to go for it. The guest of honor is beloved by all, as is her restaurant------or is she? Donatella is found murdered the day after the dinner in her honor. Now who would do this? Hum--5 suspects AND a restaurant to help her friend run (Donatella left it to her in her will).

Lots of twists and turns in this one and I gotta mention this--thank heavens the dog was with her!! Of course there are some delicious sounding recipes at the end including one for Key Lime Pie that sounds heavenly!!!

I now have to wait for the next in this series which by the ending of the book I know must already be in the works--Patience is a virtue!!

I am always so impatient when I find a good series like this. I think I'll let a few more stories build up in the series then read them all back to back.

I haven't read a mystery novel in a long time. I have a wild imagination and most of the time I dream about the stuff that I read, lol. But I will check this out though - there's always something about wanting to find out who murdered who.

I'm sure this would feel like being a detective in the story trying to unravel murder clues. This would be so fun to read.
