I never read the original before the author did some rewrites--but I definitely like gow it is now. It is one of my favorite genres--about Scottish Highlanders.
Lady Mary is seduced by her betrothed and the way he acts afterwards does not please her at all!! However her father--a really mean charactor--is trying to get her to marry an obnoxious older man instead.
