She never knew love from her father who forced her into a loveless marriage. He micro managed both of them with threats or promises--they did things that were highly unethical and illegal.
She is wanted by both cartels in the area--one of them actually loves her-for her knowledge. Violence leaves Claudia bloody and without her memory.
She is ultimately helped and regains her memory---but what she remembers--she wishes she hadn't!
