About the Book: (from Amazon)

A police fundraiser. An argument. A note saying “Come to the rooftop.” A fatal fall from the roof. Was it suicide or murder?

A man is arrested for murder within minutes of the victim falling to his death from the rooftop of a hotel where a police fundraiser is being held. The arrest is based solely on earlier harsh words between two men, and it doesn’t add up. At least not to Jake and Al, private investigators hired to look into it by a wealthy friend of the accused.

The banquet room was full of police. After all, it was a police fundraiser, but Al and Jake think Gio La Serta’s arrest was a little too sudden and a little too convenient. Then strange things begin to happen to them. Black cars start following them, Jake is handed a thumb drive while on a ferry by a person who disappears, and the gas tank cover on Jake’s truck has obviously been tampered with.

It becomes obvious someone doesn’t want them to discover the truth about Niles Balderelli’s murder, and now Al and Jake have gone from being hunters to being the prey. But are they beginning to discover the truth a little too late?

I take a good deal of what is in the news with a grain of salt. I trust my instincts..I also believe the powers that be keep a good deal of pertinent info from us.

I do not believe that the news is honest at all! They definitely say what they want and expect everyone to just take whatever they say to heart. I go with my own instincts and have good intuition.

I think we need to discern the truth for ourselves

By news I assume you mean reporting facts, rather than news articles or talking heads that are opinion pieces. Yes, I have a few trusted news sources - trusted because their record is very, very good. Facts are indeed facts, but many people seem to want to live in a delusion that suits their narrative rather than empirical truth. Also there seems to be confusion between opinion and news - they are two separate things.

I used to believe everything but it's sad how far too many "sites" are now narratives to attract or retain it's base.

I guess it depends on what type of news it is. Sometimes it can seem fake, but it's turns out to real. Other times, a story can seem real, but then it happens to fake.

I trust reputable sources only. It can be confusing in the news world.

I always consider the source. There are some outlets that are rock solid and some that are ridiculous.

No I do not believe everything on the news.
I think it is over dramatized at times for readership.

There's only one major news channel that I believe.

I rarely believe anything on the news. I usually will check several different news sources and then try to determine what is really the truth. Really sad that impartial news is so hard to find.

I would like to think things we see on the news are true but I know that facts are not double checked to race to get the story first.

Depending on the news source, I do believe what I read and see on the news as long as there are facts.
