$25 Amazon/PP-1-WW-Murder in England: A Midwest Cozy Mystery-Dianne Harman Ends 8/25

Tuesday, August 10, 2021

What a lovely trip to the English countryside these 4 friends took! The imagery was amazing-I almost felt like I was there!! All the woman had different places they wanted to see and they got to see all of them! Kat, who if you remember her from the other Midwest Cozies is an author. She really wanted to see where all these famous authors hung out and hoped she might get some inspiration.

They were staying at a hotel that was super friendly-some of the best service any of these women has ever experienced. The owner was really nice. His nephew ran the bar and was super helpful. So when the police came knocking to say that the nephew had been murdered--well Kat just had to offer her help! What bothered Kat the most was that his Belgian Malinois dog did not try to protect Sam (the nephew) from the killer.

She ends up helping the police and not only was the killer found--but a bad cop was also uncovered! Twists and turns galore--and you won't guess who killed Sam!

There is a lot of eating going on as the women go about the country side--my mouth was watering-and of course at the end of the novel-several of those tempting dishes will appear with their recipes!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

A murder in the English pub where you're staying? Definitely not the way to start a vacation! What could be better than going to Northern England to visit the places where famous authors such as Bram Stoker, Beatrix Potter, and Catherine Cookson lived and worked? If you're an author it's a dream come true and something Kat had always wanted to do.

But when the popular pub employee, Sam, is murdered the night Kat and her friends arrive at the pub, Kat feels she has to help. And even though she'd promised her husband she wouldn't become involved in any more murder investigations, she can't turn her back on the genial uncle of the murdered pub employee, who has no idea what to do. She can see that he desperately needs her help.

She never expected the local police to use her mystery solving talents, but Sergeant Nick Black realizes he needs some help from a civilian when there's a stakeout. And Kat can't get rid of the thought that Bailey, Sam's Belgian Malinois dog, must have known who the murderer was, because he hadn't tried to protect Sam from the killer.

After all, he'd come to Sam's rescue before, so why hadn't he protected Sam the night the murder took place? Had he recognized the murderer? Was it someone Sam knew and was on friendly terms with?

Join Kat and her friends as they explore the Northern England countryside while they help solve a murder.

I have never gone on a trip with friends, but it sounds like it would be fun. I would not participate in an investigation on foreign soil, as I don't know their laws and wouldn't want to get in trouble.

I have not traveled to a foreign country with friends yet but that sounds like a lot of fun. I would help the police solve a crime as long as I was safe.

I have only went to a foreign country one time and I went by myself.

I have visited a foreign country but only with family. A friends trip sounds fantastic though. I would be very reluctant to get involved in helping to solve a police mystery in a foreign country. I would be concerned that involvement in something like that could put me in danger.

My husband and I have always traveled alone. Our friends have many different interests and might not have wanted to spend time at galleries and museums...In a foreign land I would answer questions from the authorities but never get too involved.

I'd love to visit a foreign country with friends. Have gone with family - but only here in No. America, and loved it! I would help foreign police if I were a witness or directly involved.

I have never been to a foreign country. No, I would not help police if abroad as I would be worried about their processes and if I would be involved unwittingly.

I went to Ireland with my parents a few years ago and we had a great time. I don't think I would have been trying to solve a mystery as a tourist, though.
