Book Review-The Enigma Cube-Douglas E Richards

Tuesday, July 28, 2020

This one actually frightened me a bit--not because of the fact that just maybe humans can have their genes manipulated to be smarter etc or even that aliens were leaving items around for just the right person to find and be able to use--it was the scenes in Germany in 1941. A lot of what went on there reminds me of what is going on right here in the USA right now!! We should NEVER forget history--or it will be repeated unfortunately.

Kelly and Justin end up time traveling back in time to Germany where Kelly's grandfather had figured out the alien cube and how to be able to move it. What they see and encounter--well--I'm not going there--you have to read it--and according to the author who had to do a lot of research the historical facts are mostly true even while the story is fiction.

There is a lot of scientific stuff about physics etc. Luckily for Kelly and Justin Kelly's grandfather figures out a way for them to return to their time without disrupting the universe!

Douglas E Richards can really write novels that will grip you and make you think!! I will be thinking of this novel long after I have read it--way into my future.

This is definitely a book you should not miss reading!!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

A riveting near-future thriller. Brilliant, surprising, and unforgettable. From the New York Times bestselling author whose books have sold over a million copies.

"Richards is an extraordinary writer," (Dean Koontz) who can "keep you turning the pages all night long." (Douglas Preston)

An alien object with breathtaking capabilities. And a life-and-death struggle for the future of humanity.

Dr. Kelly Connolly is part of a top-secret team studying the most important find in human history, the Enigma Cube, an alien artifact of incomprehensible power. A cube whose technology can catapult civilization to dizzying heights--or destroy it entirely.

After years of failed attempts to unlock the cube's secrets, all hell suddenly breaks loose. Kelly and a black-ops commando, Justin Boyd, are soon fighting against all odds to stay alive, and to keep the cube out of enemy hands.

As the situation quickly goes from bad to worse, Kelly discovers that the cube is far more dangerous than even she had imagined. And that her actions could lead to nightmarish changes to the nature of reality itself.

The Enigma Cube is a masterful thriller. One crammed with breakneck action, unexpected twists, mind-blowing science, and ethical dilemmas readers will be contemplating long after they've read the last page.

"Richards is a worthy successor to Michael Crichton." (SF Book dot com)
