I want to get my grandchildren involved in picking out new healthy foods and helping me cook them. Helping me find new ways in which to fix good healthy food. Thank you so much for sharing this

We have a garden in the spring/summer/fall and the girls started to get much more interested in veggies after helping to grow their own. It's a fun experience for all of us and they, I'm sure, will have their own gardens when they grow up.

I always told my daughter to at least try something 1 time and if you don't like it then you won't have to eat it. But to remember vegetables are good for you. Now she eats most vegetables out there and loves them.

The thing that has worked best for me so far is to be a good example.I try to make good choices even when it's not easy (hello sweet tooth!). I also have the kids help me cook. When they are the ones slicing veggies and helping in the kitchen, they are more inclined to at least try the food.

I don't think trying to force certain foods on kids will work, so I would just make healthy and tasty foods available and let them see me eating them and enjoying them. The old adage that kids learn by watching adults is true.
