I did not realize there was a Pasta Day! To me it is every day. It is what I make when I have no idea what else I want to eat and I am hungry. I usually keep a couple of varieties in my pantry all the time--always some thin pasta and bowties.

I usually grab Barilla Pasta, Thin Spaghetti, or sometimes Ronzoni. I have even been known to grab the store brands on occasion (if they are on sale). Pasta comes in such a variety now--they have gluten free, wheat, vegetable--there is no excuse not to buy pasta anymore! When I was young I was actually allergic to wheat--and back then it was not easy finding pasta without it. Somehow my Mom found Spinach Pasta back then--luckily I out grew that allergy!!

I generally make it simple as I live alone--Like last night. Boiled up some spaghetti--opened a can of no salt tomato sauce-defrosted a hamburger. Mixed the hamberger and the sauce in a pot, covered with tin foil (I have no idea where the cover to that pot is). Of course DO NOT do what I did--When I was pouring the boiling water and spaghetti into a colander---I spilled the boiling water on my hand-OUCH. Once I put the meat sauce and pasta together--I added some Italian bread crumbs. It was delicious--but now I had a VERY sore hand!! I remembered one of my friends told me what to do but of course I had forgotten-so I called her--Mustard--any kind-spread it over the burn and wait for about 20 min-it does work but takes a while-Today my hand is fine!!!

There are so many ways I make pasta dishes--sometimes just butter and garlic powder--sometimes butter, cottage cheese and cinnamon and sugar (usually with the bowties)--sauce then add shrimp or maybe tuna--and many other ways as well. Just please be careful of that boiling water!!

How do you make pasta and what variety do you get most often?

I favor spaghetti noodles or ziti. I want to try the new Barilla pasta with Lentil. I'm glad your hand was better the next day!

We celebrated with pasta, we used wheat pasta with sauce and meatballs. It was delicious.
