I am not much of a breakfast person--but on the rare occasion I wake up HUNGRY I head for my Cheerio's box! When I was first diagnosed as Diabetic Type 2--it was the cereal my doctor told me to buy! I have gotten used to almond milk so that is what I add to it. I always buy the Almond Breeze Dairy Free Almondmilk, Unsweetened Original.
Generally I will eat it just like that--no added anything else--but it is the summertime and my thoughts turn to FRUIT!!
When I was shopping the other day I noticed that the Red Raspberries and the Blueberries were on sale--so I bought a pint of each. I already had eaten the 4 Apricots I had bought prior and 2 peaches are still in my refrig calling my name.

To make a long story short I added a handful of the red raspberries and the blueberries to the cereal. Of course I spilled the blueberries onto my kitchen floor-so had to pick them up and re wash them! Only 1 got lost under my refrig--I'm kinda hoping that my cat see it and manages to use those claws of hers and gets it out for me.
Those raspberries were the sweetest I've tasted in a very long time--and the blueberries were delicious also. It sweetened up the cereal perfectly!!
There is another way I love to eat fresh fruit--but that is for a different post-and yes, I bought the ingredients for that also (thsnk heavens for shopping carts!)
