Book Review-Murder Comes Calling (Lainswich Witches 18)-Raven Snow

Monday, April 9, 2018

This one is full of emotional ups and downs as Rowen's father-who she never met-comes to town. He has someone with him and is looking for her Mom-who of course is not around! He really tries to avoid Rowen--but she is persistant especially since an old woman was found frozen to death in her house the night he appeared! Rowen finds out that she has relatives right there in town that she never knew about as she tries to find out who committed murder.

Lots going on and happens while Rowen tries to reconcile the man her father is in her mind. Will she find out who the murderer is--and who are all these new relatives?

By now you know I really love the Lainswich series and this one was no exception.

About the Book: (from Amazon)

It’s the coldest night Rowen can remember, but her family is taking it all in stride. The Greensmiths are a close family. They make the most of the nasty weather with a sleepover. A night of card games, toasted marshmallows, and movie marathons await them. What they don’t know is that this will be their last night of peace for a while. Something worse than bad weather is coming to Lainswich.

Rowen had never met her father until now. Desmond Trainer isn’t the man she expected him to be. She isn’t sure what she expected, but it certainly wasn’t this man going to such great lengths to keep avoiding her. Is he afraid of confronting his past, or does it have something to do with the little old lady who passed away the night he rolled into town? It’s a mystery Rowen will have to solve. And solving it means watching her family tree branch out in ways she never could have predicted.

Eighteenth Volume of the Lainswich Witches Mystery Series. Approx. 50,000 words in length. It is a standalone (reading prior or future volumes not required to enjoy the book, no cliffhanger).

Another Lainswich Murder mystery mysterious and interesting! I wouldn't doubt that father had something to do with the dead woman, although I don't think he killed her. Will have to read to find out.
