Book Review-Hexes and Exes (Lainswich Witches Series Book 2) -Raven Snow

Friday, May 12, 2017

Rowen seems to be a witch who can't quite keep trouble from finding her family! This town she is living in love to blame anything vaguely related to the occult to her family. Now they aren't all angels by any means--and except for her grandmother who is now in jail (see Book 1 review) most of them are relatively harmless. They are just trying to kind of blend in with the rest of the town-not that that will ever happen.

A woman from the town is found murdered and she is found with occult symbols surrounding her. But are they occult symbols? Rowen finds herself trying to solve this mysterious death. It doesn't help that her boyfriend's brother is the number one suspect and that all her exes keep showing up! As usual her entire family gets involved. And her boyfriend's Mom and Dad come to town and meet Rowen and all the rest of the crew. Some tense moments for Rowen and Eric.

These are short, clean books and should keep you entertained and reading!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

Things have been going well for Rowen Greensmith. She’s moved back home with her family in Lainswich. She runs The Lainswich Inquirer— a surprisingly successful publication. She’s never been happier. Sure, her boyfriend Eric spends a lot of time away, but she still adores him. Sure, her family is still a lot to handle, but they’re still her favorite people in the world.

When a local woman gets killed in a way that points to the occult, all of that happiness is turned on its head. The Lainswich community isn’t fond of the Greensmiths (a family of Witches) on the best of days. It doesn’t take much for them to turn against Rowen’s family.

Novella (approx. 30,000 words). Second Volume of the "Lainswich Witches" Mystery Series. It is a standalone (reading prior or future volumes not required to enjoy the book). No cliffhanger.

A book on witches...I haven't read one in a while. This one sounds good, too.

Sounds interesting. I mean with the word exes right in the title it has to a good witch read. I'm waiting to see who really committed the murder, rarely is it the suspect.

It's kind of nice to come across a standalone book. I'm not always looking for a commitment when I read.

This was a fun read; I downloaded book 6 today so I can start it tonight. I read before I fall asleep every night.
The characters were fun and the story line moves along quickly, all set in a small town.
