Book Review-The Dead Game-Susanne Leist

Now first of all--why did someone (me) get this book when it is so far from books I normally read. Well, I kept seeing it on Twitter and the pictures were mostly all different--enough so that I was kind of curious what it was about. It went on sale and I decided to take a chance.

This is definitely not your usual vampire book--it goes far beyond that and I found myself enthralled with the story line! Yup, you read that correctly--I LOVED it!! The twists and turns and mysterious happenings will keep you reading. Good vs Evil-humans siding with human vampires--magical happenings--you name it--this book has it.

The ending might give you chills and I think this will probably become a series. What a movie this would make!!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

Book 1 in a series.
Linda moves to a seaside town to live a quiet life. She opens a bookstore and makes new friends. Life is simple--that is until the dead body washes up on shore. Linda is horrified to find that dead bodies and disappearing tourists are common for this small town. As soon as the sun sets, the residents and tourists are stalked by dark shadows. But this is only the beginning.

Linda and her friends receive an unsigned invitation to a party at a deserted house. They are pursued through revolving rooms and dangerous traps, barely escaping with their lives. Two of their own remain trapped in the house. Or so they think.

They must embark on a difficult journey, chased by unnatural creatures, not knowing whom to trust, to uncover the one controlling the game and everyone in town. Who are The Dead? Are they humans or vampires? Or a combination of both? Will there be an end to their evil game? Will Linda and Todd find love? Will a second book be needed?

The Dead Game has begun.

About the Author: (from Amazon)

I'm an avid reader. I love to read all types of books. My first book, The Dead Game has paranormal, suspense and mystery. It brings fantasy and the surreal to the simple murder mystery. It has dead bodies and suspects like a traditional murder mystery. However, it also has humans, vampires, and vampire derivatives. A touch of romance is thrown into the mix. And don't forget the haunted house--we must have one of those.

I'm glad you LOVED it although, it is not a book for my anxiety. My daughter though would absolutely thrill over it! She likes when things aren't as they appear or when she thinks something is one way and turns out completely different. The holidays are coming and she likes books, real book though. Thanks for a great idea.

This book looks so scary. I stopped watching scary movies and reading scary books about a year ago. I used to love them, but realized they were making my kids scared and giving me nightmares after watching or reading. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I'm not usually a vampire book reader, lol. But knowing you liked it a lot even though it's not usually your thing makes me curious, too...
