Book Review-Deadly Impressions-Art Johnson

Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Having read The Devil's Violin ( see my review here ) I knew I had to read this book by Art Johnson!

Who is behind the kidnapping of Stephanie Fick the granddaughter of Ezekiel Fick, a multi-billlioaire? Arnold Blackburn, ex LAPD-now a PI is asked by LA Police Chief Fergus McCreary to use his contacts to try and find out. Arney goes to some of the roughest underworld people he knows--then they end up dead. The FBI gets involved, one of whom is a college friend of Arney's. Nothing seems right--there is no ransom note and Fisk is obviously hiding something.

The twists and turns in this murder mystery are many and varied--you will think you know who did it--then realize you were wrong. The real culprit? I know I did not guess who it was and it was a total surprise.

About the Book: (from Amazon)

FBI special Agent Chris Clarke and his partner Carlos Chubbs Gonzales are off to Los Angeles to investigate the kidnapping of a twenty-four year old heiress. Her grandfather, multi-billionaire Ezekiel Fick, who has the President of the United States on speed-dial, cracks the whip over the Mayor of Los Angeles, which puts L.A. Police Chief Fergus McCreary on the hot seat to find Stephanie Fick--and fast.

After organizing the departmental investigation, Chief Mac goes behind closed doors to call in Arnold Blackburn, an ex-LAPD Lieutenant recently booted off the force who is now a Private Detective in L.A. County. Arney Blackburn has respect from both sides of the law which gives him access to information the LAPD isn’t privy to.
