There is a New Kosher Restaurant on Central Avenue!!!! @BensKosherDeli

Sunday, January 18, 2015

As usual I was out with my Mom shopping today (Saturday). I first drove her to Lord & Taylor's because they had them at 50% off--she wanted a new winter jacket. Yes, we (or should I say I spotted one) found one that fit her and looked great and not only was it 50% off-she got an additional 15% because she used her Lord & Taylor's credit card. I'm sure my Mom would have loved to stay there and try on coats all day--but I really dislike shopping which is why I FOUND ONE QUICKLY and got her out of there!

Now, my 92 year young Mom does not miss a meal unless she is near death! So as I was headed back to Central Avenue I was informed that it was lunch time and maybe the new restaurant had opened. She had been eying this restaurant since they started building it up. For those of you who know Central Avenue-if you are headed north it will be on your right-it is a 2 or 3 story brown building with PLENTY of parking in their lot!! Here is the address of their location in Scarsdale.

The minute we walked into the restaurant deli I said to my Mom--this is not their only location--and I was right! To read more about the history behind this multi-location restaurant and to see where the other locations are click here This is their home page--you can click to see their menus and lots of other interesting things.

It is a bit more expensive then the Kosher restaurant which I am sure you are all familiar with on Central Ave--but the food is worth every extra penny! I had a Reuben, my Mom had a Brisket sandwich--really, really good!! I had French Fries with mine and they were real potatoes-thick and yummy. And I would love to try one of their HOT DOGS.

Ben's has no idea I am writing this post--but I was so impressed with the whole experience I just had to let everyone know! I will attempt to tell them by commenting to them on their site. And I put their @BensKosherDeli in the title of the post!

This sounds great. I love rubens. We don't have a place like that here. Sure wish we did.

A reuben from a kosher restaurant is always the best. There are a couple in Chicago that I've been wanting to try!

I love a good Pastrami sandwich when I go into the city. Gonna have to check this out.

It does sound like a really great place. I'll have to check and see if there's a location here since I've never heard of them before. If there isn't I'll have to keep them in mind if I'm ever that way.

OK so I went to check and they only have locations in NY and Florida so I guess it'll have to wait until I'm back that way which may hopefully be this year.

It sounds like a great place to catch lunch. This would be the kind of place that my parents would love. I bet they offer a great variety to chose from.

My Mom loves a good pastrami on rye. I love the amazing pickles you can only find at a good deli.

Wish I could try eating there, the picture looks yummy. My mouth kind of watered when you mentioned the fries. All we get now from fast food are soggy and dried up fries.

I love that you had such a great experience that you wanted to write about it. And I love that there was ample parking too. I'd love to try it out!

That's awesome that your Mom is 92 and still able to go out and do stuff. My father-in-law is 92 as well but can't see anymore so he stays at home.

That was really nice taking your mom shopping for a winter coat and then out to eat where she has been wanting to go. You will remember those special things way on in your life. I wish my mom was still here so I could do that again too. Love them Reuben Sandwiches myself.
