Imagine Disney except for adults-baby boomers to be exact. That is what Max has created a theme park which pretty well mimics the 60's and 70's. Lyle Deming, who left the police department under not the best of circumstances now is happily driving a cab for tourists in this make believe town. Then accidents start happening and Max hires Kate who is a super PR person to try and stop the bad publicity or at least put a better spin on it. The accidents become more frequent-then someone dies. Max convinces Lyle to investigate. There are twists and turns aplenty in this one! Lyle and Kate have to team up and try to stay alive to save the park! Not everyone is so lucky--I genuinely enjoyed reading this book and was happy at a decision to add something to the park at the end--Will there be another in this series? I'm not sure-but there should be!!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

He thinks he’s on edge now…then people start getting killed…

Uptight has-been ex-cop Lyle Deming's default setting for years, but his new job, driving a cab in a theme park, promises to cure his chronic anxieties. Nostalgia City is the ultimate resort for anyone who wants to visit the past. A meticulous recreation of an entire small town from the early 1970s, it’s complete with period cars, music, clothes, shops, restaurants, hotels—the works.

The relaxed theme-park atmosphere is just what Lyle needs—until rides are sabotaged and tourists killed. Then park founder, billionaire “Max” Maxwell, drafts Lyle into investigating—unofficially. As the violence escalates and employees get rattled, Lyle gets help. Kate Sorensen, the park’s PR director—and former college basketball player—becomes another incognito investigator. Except that she’s six-foot-two-and-a-half-inches tall and drop-dead gorgeous. So much for incognito.

Together, Lyle and Kate must unravel a conspiracy of corporate greed and murder.

I don't generally read the "Who Done It" type of books but this one is intriguing. I may just consider it - but I have so many others to catch up on first. If only there were more time in my days.

Sounds like my kids of theme park. Well, without all the traps and killing and such.

I am not one to read much books, but this one seems like a pretty good thriller

After just getting back from Disney, I would welcome a theme park just for adults. Minus the killing and stuff lol.

The author asked that I post this!!

Michele, I'd like to join the conversation but I can't get logged into your site. I've tried different computers and different browsers. The space to authenticate the fuzzy letters or numbers is cut off at the bottom.

Perhaps you could forward two comments from me in reply to some of the posts:

One reviewer said that after reading my book, family vacations would never be the same. But relax... it's just fiction.

AND

Will there be another in the series? Yes. Lyle and Kate will be back. Next time they will be dealing with a threat to one of them personally, and readers will get an inside look at an odd, new form of counterfeiting--and it's not money.

Thanks,

Mark

When we go to Dollywood, there's one ride in particular that always seems to break down. I'm scared to ever get on it! I can only imagine how freaked out I'd be if the theme park accidents happened like this.
