What a lovely little story this is. Perfect for a young girl to read, or perhaps even a younger girl to have read to her. This book takes a very bad situation and makes it all better--very much better. This is a 5 star if ever I read one!

Eclair's Mom gets sick and has to go away for a while leaving Eclair and Megan (the little sister) at home with their Dad. The two girls don't really understand what is happening. Their Dad was out of work and needed to be out looking for a job so he sent his daughters to his Mom's ranch. Eclair was not very happy about this to say the least. She was even more unhappy once they reached the ranch and came to conclusions that were not quite right.--until---she realized that things were a lot better then she thought.

NEW RELEASE........CHILDREN'S BOOK BY MICHELLE WEIDENBENNER

Hi, I’m Éclair and I’m seven. My sister Meggie is two. When mom got sick we had to go live with Stella, my dad’s mom, the one with maroon colored hair. I begged Dad not to make us stay with her because she beat her horse and was going to eat her rooster, but he didn’t believe me. Even after I pretended I was going to barf, he left us with Stella.

So there we were, Meggie and me, on a strange pink farm with a skinny horse, a mean rooster, and Stinky Stella who had a living room filled with dead deer heads.

What would she do to us?

Would we end up on her wall too?

“Do you want to name her?” Stella said.

I squeezed my eyes to think again. “Star. She looks like a movie star.”

I love it.” Stella reached up to give me a high-five. “Star, it is.”

Wow, I love all the comments and GREAT suggestions on books in the series. I'd like to see Stella roller blade with Eclair. That would be a hoot! Eclair goes geocaching with Stella in Book Three. It's really fun. Thanks for having me on tour, Miki, and sharing this book with your readers. It's available in paperback and digital, but Amazon hasn't "matched" the books together at their site yet. We're still working on that.

My stepdaughter turns 9 in October. Every night she reads before bed and reading keeps her occupied on long car rides. I love seeing her get up in the morning to grab a book and continue ready instead of turning the TV on. This is definitely a book she could read!

Going to a local landmark would be fun! Or maybe a road trip!
