My Favorite Authors of 2013

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

I actually lost count of how many books I read in 2013! And I am not finished yet! There were so many good ones and there was always something I liked about all of them; whether it was the storyline, the background premise or the way the author wrote that captured my attention and or imagination. I would like to say something here—although it is counter intuitive—I am NOT an affiliate of Amazon. I truly enjoy reading and then writing up reviews on my blog, on Amazon, on Goodreads and occasionally Librarything which might help others to decide what they might like to read. Not everyone is going to like the same genre books, which is why lately I’ve been directing people back to Amazon where they can read a chapter or two. I also attempt to keep my reviews short and sweet knowing that none of us really has the time to read long reviews—By the way—many of you have mentioned that I leave you hanging—yup—and I will probably continue to do that-I want you to read the book!!

Now on to my personal favorites of 2013 (but by no means the only ones!)—I think I will start with the authors.

Lawrence W. Gold, MD – He writes some of the best medical mysteries/thrillers I have
Read in a long time. I think I read and reviewed 4 or 5 of his
Books this year! I am waiting on pins and needles for his next
One which he assured me he is feverishly writing!

Melissa Foster- I am sure you have all noticed these books on my blog! She is
Writing a 9 book series-and yes I have or will be reading
Every single one of them. This series is essentially
Contemporary Romance. There is a disclaimer that says adult
Content on each of them-but actually as long as you are over
18 the reality is-these are love scenes with people who truly
love each other and ultimately get married! She also wrote a
separate book which made my Favorite book of the year list-
and which made me realize what a versatile writer she truly is!

Ryan Winfield- He is the author who is always giving away Kindles and
Amazon Gift Cards. He is the writer of the Park Service
Trilogy with an interesting futuristic environmental bent.
I have read-but not sure if I actually reviewed 2 of these
Books. I just saw that the third is out—guess who will be
Purchasing that one!

As I am sitting here writing I am realizing that there is no way I can pick out just a few of the individual books to say they were my favorite. Nor can I promise that my favorites will be your favorites. Thus all I can say is if you are looking for a good book go to my blog—click on the link that says books on the left hand side (this link will take you there directly) and choose to read one or two or more of my reviews. Some of them had giveaways attached--some don't--my review will always be up top.

I have just been introduced to the fabulous Melissa! But the other two sound right up my alley, seriously going to have to check them out.

I always enjoy reading your reviews, as they are "spot-on" and when you recommend one I know that I am going to fall in love with it! I can't wait to see what you bring for the New Year!

LOL, you do read A LOT, so it doesn't surprise me that you can't narrow down specific books. How do you find the time to read all the books you do?

I don';t think I have read anything by these authors but will be checking them out. You are responsible for at least 1/5 of my to be read pile!

That is awesome that you are able to read so often! I have very little free time but all sound like they might be great books.

I am surprised the list only contains three with as much as you read. I really liked the books I have read from the second two, the first gentleman is more my son and husbands style. I am hoping to get to read all 9 books in that series as well.

I haven't read any of their books, but after your reviews, I really need to get hold of their ebooks on my Kindle. It's so amazing that one of the authors wrote on your post here! Quite a treat.

I love finding new authors to read. I can't go to sleep unless I have read a couple chapters from a great book, so i'm always on the look out for new authors to fall in love with.

Wow. They both seem to be very good authors. Writing one book is hard writing 9 is an amazing feat. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for this list. You are a big time reader. I don't know how people do it. You must really love to read. I guessing 2014 will bring you many good reads.
