This is definitely a must read for all contemporary romance lovers, who enjoy a good clean read! The road is bumpy for recently widowed Madeline Goode and gets a lot worse before it gets so much better. So, they got married a wee bit earlier then anyone knew--hey what is life without a little spice!! Thankfully she has found a good man who will stand behind her in spite of his job, his parents and her own insecurities. The Romance Times gave this a 4--I give it a 5--this is a refreshingly good book to read!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

Madeline Goode is devastated when her husband dies in a car accident. After moving back in with her parents with her two year old son, Max, she attempts to put the pieces of her life back together. But she didn’t plan on meeting Jake Hart, the star NBA player that she keeps bumping into at her new job as a charity coordinator for the Racers. And she certainly didn’t plan on learning that her husband’s accident may have been no accident at all.

Will Jake stick around while her life gets complicated? And if she gives in to her heart, will she just be making another mistake? Rushing to the Altar may be the most daring and risky move of her life.

About the Author: (from Amazon)

Revealing secrets of the Kingdom, one story at a time . . .

Born and raised in Vincennes, Indiana, Jamie is a preacher's daughter. Road trips with her dad--to and from Bible studies across Indiana--were filled with talks of things beyond earth's bounds - creation and the fall, God and Jesus and the rapture, the earthly walk compared to the spiritual walk, and how we are born for more than what we can see or touch.
The highlight of those nights was stopping at a truck stop in the middle of the night where her dad would spend a little of the offering basket on two slices of pie and a couple of Cokes. Nothing ever felt so special as a middle of the night slice of pie with her dad. And nothing could stop the writing pouring out of her.

Poems, short stories, skits and song lyrics later, Jamie grew up and married. When her eldest son turned five she decided to try her hand at novels. Snow Angel was released by B&H Publishing Group in September 2007 and won the USA Book News "Best Books 2007" Awards winner, and 2008 RITA Awards® Best First Book finalist. It was the beginning of her dream career. Jamie has since written several books to great acclaim. Her first novella, a Christmas novella, The Snowflake, is scheduled to release October 2010.

Jamie and Tony have been married for twenty-two years and live in Indianapolis, Indiana with their three sons and a giant of a dog named Leo.

If she could only say one thing to her readers it would be, "Live the dreams God has destined you for!"

Interesting.. I wonder how it will pan out - it sounds like an Amish book I read (not exactly) but a big shot coming in and joining into a more simple life.

I like a nice clean romance that pans out with a happy ending. When I read a romance I expect someone to live happily every after. :)

Sounds like a sweet book - but I must still be suffering from "new mom hormones" because the description of the beginning of the book almost made me cry! haha

Sounds like a pretty good story line. Bringing in an NBA player into the mix must make it very interesting.
