Kindle Fire HD GA-Book Review-Snow Day-Dan Maurer-Ends 9/27

First off I would like to thank Dan Maurer for being kind enough to send me a print copy of this novella so that I could get the full impact without staining my eyes or back sitting at my computer!! This novella scared the daylights out of me—it did remind me somewhat of the scary stories they used to tell around campfires at night when my parents could convince me to go to camp. That this might possibly have happened back in the good old days I have no doubt which makes it doubly scary!! Make sure the lights are on when you read this one and there are no storms going on outside. You can and probably will read this in one sitting. I believe this also comes in audio version as well as e-book—do not listen to this while driving!!!!! But by all means—read or listen to it-I give this 10 stars!!!!

About the Book (from promotional materials from PUYB)

It happens each winter, and has for over 35 years. Every time the snow starts to fall late in the evening before a school day, the dreams begin again for Billy Stone. They are always the same - there's a dark tunnel, and there's blood, lots of blood, and someone is screaming.

In this chilling childhood tale, Billy, recounts the events of one unforgettable day in 1975. On that day, he and his friends played carefree in the snow, until an adventure gone awry left him far from home, staring death in the face, and running from a killer bent on keeping a horrible secret.

Set in a time before Amber Alerts, when horror stories were told around camp fires instead of on the nightly news, Snow Day is a blend of nostalgia and nightmare that makes us question if the good old days were really as good as we remember.

From a new voice in dark fiction comes a thriller about an idyllic childhood turned horrifying; a cautionary tale about how losing sight of the difference between feeling safe and being safe can lead to deadly consequences.

This Novella can be purchased at Amazon and soon other e-book and audio sellers!

I think I'd have a difficult time with this book. I don't like scary stories of any sort as I get quite freaked out. :( Does spike your curiosity though.

I will check it out. I'm not one for scary either but I do like suspense. I'm always looking for new books to read. Thanks!

Between an e-book and an actual book, I'd take the latter any day. Nothing beats the real thing for me. :)

I haven't read a good thriller in a long time. Since not many of my friends read them, I don't get many recommended to me and I hate guessing which ones will be good ones. Thanks for the great review! Now I know this one will be worth my time.

Gosh, I hope you're getting print copies on all your book reviews girl!!

This one sounds interesting. Thrillers I'm afraid would give me nightmares, however, I am reading more these days.

May one day decide to borrow some of yours.

Lucky for the author to get to help out with those films.

I never went to camp so I am not aware of the stories they told. I am curious about this book now though, I have started listening to audio books when I run, I might have to check this one out. Maybe it will scare me enough to make me run faster.
