Book Review/Author Interview - Cloning Around - Dee Rose

Saturday, August 3, 2013

If you love thrillers with lots of twists and turns you will truly enjoy this book. Cloning is a frightening prospect for many and the way it is used in this novel is what could actually happen if in the wrong hands!! I read this book really quickly-I just had to know what was going to happen next and admittedly I could not guess correctly most of the time! I will be looking forward to this authors next book!!

About the Book: (from the back of the book)

Special Agent Robert Bassett is an action junkie. He constantly tries to live up to the name of his legendary father, Reed Bassett, who was also an FBI agent. However, it is Reed's last case that finds Robert trapped in a violent mission of blood, terror, revenge and clones. A scientist, Dr. Richard Van Hellmann, has finally uncovered the way to create clones. He intends to rule the world by murdering, and then cloning it's most powerful people. Dr. VanHellmann has the unique gift of reading peoples minds, of which he also uses to control his clones. Once Robert realizes the buried link between himself and Dr. VanHellmann. the mission becomes personal. Robert then finds himself, not only fighting for his life and the lives of others, but also fighting for the Bassett's family honor. With subplots galore, ranging from missing journal pages containing the cloning process and the way to stop VanHellmann; Robert's mistrust of his own department in the FBI; and flashbacks of Robert's connection to VanHellmann; it all leads to a highly anticipated showdown in the place where it all started over twenty years ago.

Author Interview:

Question: First off I'd really like to know why did you decide to write this book?

Answer: I decided to write this novel because I love action and science fiction, so I figured I'd come up with a story that
combined them. Also the idea of cloning was big at the time.

Question: What is special about your book? What makes it different from others in the same category?

Answer: What differentiates this book from others in its category is that, at its core, it can actually happen.
I think it's what makes the idea of human cloning so controversial--especially when you talk about
trying to overthrow, not just the government, but the world.

Question: What types of readers will be interested in your book?

Answer: The readers who will enjoy this book are fans of thrillers with twists and turns throughout the story.
I'd like to think that the science fiction element will draw in the sci fi crowd as well.

Question: Have you published any other books? Do you plan to publish more?

Answer: I have published a short book earlier this year entitled Forbidden Love.
I have two more novels that I am working on and will probably be released by the end of 2013/beginning 2014. One is
entitled The Hangman, which tells the story of an evil spirit who must seek revenge on the people who murdered
him in order to be made human again. The other one is entitled The True Power, about a group of five friends who
graduate college together, and then go on to become the most powerful criminals in the country. Only an elite group of
peace officers try to bring them to justice.

Thank you so much for taking the time t9o answer some questions for my readers! I for one look forward to your up coming novels!

This book can be purchased at Amazon, Barnes and Nobel and Outskirts Press

About the Author: ( from his website )

Dee Rose was born on July 5th and resides in Aurora, CO. He is the father of two daughters. "They are my life." He says. He attended Metro State University of Denver, where he majored in Political Science.

Forbidden Love is the first of several novels he hopes to publish in the romance genre. He has written novels in other genres, but thrillers and romance are his passion. "Defying Gravity" is his favorite song because no one believed he could pen a romance novel. "Hell, I'm still a little shocked that I did it." He said. But the novel and it's content are dedicated to his sister, who passed away from a long battle with cancer. "She gave me the motivaton and strength to write and finish what I believe is my best work to date."

Cloning Around is his second published novel and the first of what he hopes will be a series involving the main character, Special Agent Robert Bassett. He wrote Cloning Around over ten years ago. Having finally published it, he says, "It has been an unbelievable journey from just an idea to the ending. I'm extremely proud to see it in print and ready to share it with others. Enjoy the ride."

This book sounds very intriguing more so because the reality of it is borderline possible in todays society. Action packed thrillers with potential to become reality are some of my favorite types of books to read. I think because of the realistic aspect!! Great review. Def interested in reading this!!

If you ask me we are not that far away from people cloning others even though they are not supposed to. This book sounds very edge of your seat and a little bit freaky because I can see this happening for reals.

Sounds like a great thriller! The scary thing is, it's not far from the truth! Sort of like that movie The Island!

This type of book frightens me the most. It is written about something that could really happen. Who knows what is going on in the world.
