Were You Denied for Disability Benefits? Get a Lawyer!

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

The word “Lawyer” frightens most of us, me included. . Many years ago I was subpoenaed. The police had picked up a person I worked with and said he was involved in a hit and run accident. Now, I knew positively it could not have been him—because at the particular time the police said it happened I was having a cup of coffee with that person!! Well to make a long story short and 5 (yes you read that correctly) years of incarceration for that poor guy—he was finally proved innocent. I ended up not speaking until they got ME a lawyer. They kept telling me that I could not have one—well that changed real fast when I would not open my mouth except to say I want a lawyer and I want one now! I had been so harassed by both sides that when I was picked for jury duty a few years after that the Judge excused me saying to please just leave—I told him the truth. I have never been called to jury duty again! With that said not all lawyers specialize in criminal law! There are times when you really need one!

If you are buying a house or have a business a lawyer is the first thing you should be looking for to make sure that everything is in order and your best interests are being looked after. . Another time you will desperately need a lawyer is if you become disabled and your claim is denied. I know several people who really should have been approved right away but it took many long years and a lawyer to get them the disability benefits they not only deserved but needed. A Houston denial of benefits lawyer specializes in these kinds of cases, as well as veteran and other disability type cases. They usually have free consultations so you know what will be charged before hand.

Thankfully we have not needed a lawyer as of yet. My husband's disability went through easily. Thankfully. We were one of the lucky ones. I know many that have to get a lawyer involved to get any action. I'm glad they are there to help when needed.

Wow! I can't believe he got 5 years and he was innocent! I will scream lawyer when I am questioned for anything too. I'm not trusting. My friends got a lawyer when their disability was denied. Lawyers are good to have on hand for a lot of different things. We have one to walk us through probate court right now.

I used to work for lawyers and learned to let them do my battling for me. It is less stressful to hand the issues over to them than to handle it yourself.

Sounds much harder than here in the UK.
Saying that we had a girl with Autism arrested because they said she was drunk and had a terrible ordeal.
