Lost in an On-Line Bookstore

Wednesday, January 2, 2013

Anyone who even remotely knows me knows for certain that I love animals and books and this has been since I was very, very young. As my Mom will tell you—my absolute favorite places to visit was the N.Y. Public Library and the Bronx Zoo when I was a child. She would have trouble getting me to go home from either. My FB fan page is filled with pictures of cats, dogs and any animals that can be shared to my page, my apartment filled with animal minatures and of course my cat Baby. My blog lately tends to have giveaways related to books.

Put me in a bookstore and I can and still sometimes do get lost for hours. I once even read a book standing in the aisles-I felt so guilty that I ultimately bought the book. If I pick up a book to see if maybe I would enjoy it------I end up reading the first chapter. Go in with someone so they can pick up a gift or a book—I walk out with minimum of (3) books!! I probably should invest in an e-reader—but I so love holding a book in my hands while cuddled up under the covers.

I used to read maybe one or two genre of book--then came the internet! There are a variety of sites that can hold me spellbound for literally hours and hours. When (and I did say when not if) I go into any of these sites I become a captive audience. Once I actually spent 6 hours browsing in one of them! There is a wide range of good books in every format possible in any of the larger sites and even the smaller ones. Most of them have a chapter or two you can read or a url directing you to an authors website. If you are thinking that maybe I am a bookaholic----------------you would be correct and I am praying NEVER to get over this addiction!!

Before kids, i used to be the same way! I read books all the time, sometimes one a day! But now..no time..well I always have time once they are grown. Great post though, thank you for sharing, it's always nice to learn a little more about you!

You and me both! I am a total bookaholic! I am even reading them on my computer now because I don't have an ereader! I wish there were a way to just transfer the book to my brain lol.
