A Couple of words about Soc Sec and Entitlement

Sunday, September 25, 2011

I received this in an email from a friend--and decided that I would share it with all of you--Social Security is NOT an Entitlement--

It occurred to me that this piece should be committed to memory and recited to the next "BLEEP" who preaches about the "entitlements" some of us receive. Then, and only then, should you smack them in the mouth.....all the while smiling.

Remember,

Not only did you contribute to Social Security but your employer did too. It totaled 15% of your income before taxes. If you averaged only $30K over your working life, that's close to $220,500.

If you calculate the future value of $4,500 per year (yours & your employer's contribution) at a simple 5% (less than what the govt. Pays on the money that it borrows), after 49 years of working you'd have $892,919.98.

If you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30 years (until you're 95 if you retire at age 65) and that's with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit!

If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you'd have a lifetime income of $2,976.40 per month?

The folks in Washington have pulled off a bigger Ponzi scheme than Bernie Madoff ever had?

Entitlement my "BLEEP", I paid cash for my social security insurance!!!! Just because they borrowed the money, doesn't make my benefits some kind of charity or handout!!

Congressional benefits, aka. Free healthcare, outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days, now that's welfare, and they have the nerve to call my social security retirement entitlements?

We're "broke" and can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.! In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , and Turkey.? And now Pakistan ......home of bin Laden. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income' receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$'s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!

They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives and now when its time for us to collect, the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow from it in the first place?

Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave 'US' the same support they give to other countries. Sad isn't it? 99% of people won't have the guts to forward this.

I'm one of the 1% -- I Just Did

And I encourage you all to please share this where ever you please!!!

I have no problems with senior citizens receiving social security. The entitlements I hate are those that go to people who don't deserve them. I call them stupid checks. Off the top of my head I can think of 4 examples.

#1 - been in jail, been arrested, alcoholic, meth head, pot head, smoker, and coffee drinker. That's her life. Thinks the government owes her for breathing. Always waiting for her check or her food stamps.

#2 - Purposesly set out to have their child declared disabled in order to increase benefits. After her social security, social security for her oldest daughter, child support, food stamps, hoursing assistance, medical...she makes more than we do.

#3 - Purposesly had baby #4 because benefits ran out because baby #3 was getting ready to go to kindergarten. Public houseing living with the father of her children but not counting his income.

#4 - Eight. Eight children all with an illegal alien father. Public aid supported all the way. Won't marry dad because she knows he would leave after he got his green card.

Those are the people I hate giving entitlements to. What's even more sad is folks like the single dad I knew who couldn't get any help. Two jobs, working his butt off, barely keeping his electricity on, making SURE his child support was paid even if he ate Ramen noodles for a week straight. There is something very screwed up in our country.
