My favorite character--Al of Brooklyn mob origins, is in this one! Getting to the bottom of this mystery took some of his gruffness which occasionally comes out--but at least it works!! As does his big heart as he helps his wife with their newborn daughter!! You gotta love this guy!!

Someone has been breaking into homes and everything seems to be pointing to the security company who installed their new systems! Jake and Al have to talk to a lot of people before they finally figure it out. It will make you sad when you learn the truth--or angry possibly. But at least there is a happy ending for two of them!!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

A series of burglaries A new romance But is he too good to be true?

Suzie, the sous-chef at DeeDee’s restaurant, Deelish, can’t talk enough about her new boyfriend and feels that he just might be “the one.”

DeeDee’s thrilled for Suzie, but things get a little dicey when Jake, DeeDee’s husband, is hired as a private investigator to find out who’s behind a series of burglaries that have taken place in a neighborhood of high-end homes.

All of the homeowners had recently hired the same security company to install state-of-the-art security systems in their homes. Unfortunately, it’s the same security system company where Suzie’s boyfriend works.

He swears he knows nothing about the burglaries, so Jake and his partner, Al, with a past that involves the Chicago mob, come up with a plan to find out if he’s telling the truth.

Everyone involved hopes that Suzie’s boyfriend is telling the truth about the burglaries and that love will win out, but things are never quite as they seem.

This is a very thought provoking question, and one I am not sure I could answer until I am in such a situation. My heart tells me I would do what is right and truth prevails..BUT you never know

I would stick up for the loved one, but I would not take the blame for what they did.

I would defend my loved one - I wouldn't take the blame though.

For 2 family members, I probably would. For 2 others, I definitely wouldn't. Not sure about the other one.

No I would not as it was not my action.

It would really depend on the situation. I would rather the person take responsibility for their actions.

No, I would not take the blame for other's wrong doing. They need to take responsibility for their own actions. I would stand by them with my support as they did take responsibility though.
