James Kolinski, a mild mannered IT guy in a very prestigious company that collects and saves data for almost everyone is overlooked for every promotion---then suddenly he realizes all his money is gone--credit cards do not work--nor do the ATM's. He needs gas to get home-----

His co worker sees him and convinces him to go back to the office-he was contemplating that anyway because he had some cash he had been collecting for his daughter's Brownie troop. Then they start looking and James has been set up--all his records at the company have been changed--AND he realizes that money is being siphoned off from every account everyway and sent somewhere else.

Will James be able to get to the bottom of this and clear his name and set those insidious back doors that someone has doctored back to normal--The really bad guys are out to kill both him and his family--can he protect them--

Book Review-The Memory Tree (Carson Chronicles Book 2)-John Heldt

Having read River Rising, Book 1 in the Carson Chronicles Books ( see my review here ) I was so happy that John Heldt asked if I wanted to read the 2nd in the series. I had been waiting for it for quite a while! Of course I said YES--I happen to love time travel books and John Heldt knows how to write them! I have also read and reviewed others in his Northwest Passage and American Journey Time travel series!!

In this continuing saga from Book 1 the Carson siblings are still looking for their parents--and their parents are still looking for them! They have managed to get to the era just before the end of WWI. Greg is still getting in trouble with the law and the ladies! The twins manage to get in touch with their bestie from Book 1--of course she is a lot older then they are now. Bridget is pregnant----There is a massive forest fire--

So why name this book The Memory Tree? You will like the answer but you will have to read the book to find out!

The way the book ended you know there will be another in this series---now I just have to wait--and so will you!

Berry Banana Smoothie

Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup orange juice, nut milk, or soy milk (your choice!)
• 1/4 cup Greek yogurt

Instructions:

1. Add all the ingredients to a blender in the order listed above.
2. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes until it is mixed well.
3. Pour into 2 glasses and enjoy!

Natural, colorful, filling half of your plate with fruits and vegetables solves a lot of problems! No need to sweat it! Think of your plate as a colorful canvas.

Book Review-Troubled Sea-Jinx Schwartz

Don't. what ever you do, run into a drug smuggling boat in the Sea of Cortez. The fear that this couple lived with is not to be believed! There are quite a few twists and turns and moments when--well--lets just say you will be wondering if they will make it out alive!

There are a few moments where there is comic relief--I especially loved the stray mutt that Emma fed hot dogs--and their friends dog who Emma fitted out with a very elaborate flotation devise with strobe lights attached!

Although this was not the Hetta Coffey type book-2 of which I have read by this author--but I liked it. Definitely kept me turning the pages!

Book Review-Crescent City-Chariss K Walker

Although this is considered the first book in this series and Prelude was actually written to explain it all--I read Prelude first (see my review here. It really helped to understand how Alec Winters came to have the amazing abilities he has! Though this can be read before Prelude--I would suggest you read that first.

As stated below this book is definitely not for anyone under 17--or for those who are faint of heart. The imagery and scenes portrayed are rather gruesome at times. Talk about an avenging angel--Alec Winters is it!!

You better believe I will be reading the rest of this series!

Book Review-Trouble in Summer Valley #4-Susan Y Tanner

I have read a book featuring Trouble before (see review here). The title: Familiar Trouble (Familiar Legacy Book 1)-Carolyn Haines. It seems that the Trouble mystery series is written by several different authors. And so far I have loved all that I have read.

Avery Wilson was recently divorced from her husband who had a tendency to gamble away all her hard earned money. Her step daughter stayed with her. They had built up the Summer Valley Ranch together--

Dirk Hanna appeared from the federal government to discover why payments were being taken from the ranch supposedly to help veterans rehabilitate with the use of horses. This was Avery's dream--to help ex servicemen. She didn't know that the ranch had already been approved!

Trouble--an extremely intelligent black cat owned by a friend of Avery showed up as Avery finally won in the divorce proceedings. He immediately had to protect Avery from her ex as any smart cat would do--then he followed her back to the ranch. You see Trouble was a cat who is very good at investigating--but even he had a bit of trouble with this one. So between being very careful near those large animals--being chased by colts across fields-Trouble has a running commentary in his mind.

The ending really threw me for a loop in this one. Talk about one big twist!! Thankfully Trouble was able to figure it out before it was too late (almost) and was able to grab Dirk's attention--after all--there is only so much a cat can do!

Book Review-Civil Terror:Gridlock- J. Luke Bennecke

Every time I hear about cars that drive themselves--I shudder. Yeah traffic can be horrendous--in New York as well as California where this story is based. This dystopian novel will make you think three times before you think that driverless vehicles are a good idea!

A bunch of brilliant civil engineers have devised highways that control the vehicles--no more traffic jams. Great you think--hum but what if a psycho terrorist decides to change a bit of the programming? Massive accidents and death--There is only one of the engineers alive and he has been blamed for the entire mess.

His wife has been killed--his daughter is missing and he and a really good hacker are the only ones who might be able to stop the next terrorist act from occurring. Jake teams up with an FBI agent (somewhat) to try and find the terrorist(s).

How will all this end? I will not be telling you--just get ready for the ride of your life--this book will keep you reading and guessing until the very end.

You gotta love Al De Duco, an ex Mob enforcer with a heart of gold. Don't believe me? Well just ask the dogs--and dogs are NRVER wrong!! His boss died and he decided to go straight-(unless someone was causing him to have to go get and or save them)-then he decided to marry the woman of his dreams and somewhat settled down. He was busy spending all the money he made as a mobster. Luckily his wife could control him with the spending.

Who better to take over Jake's PI business while he had to go away for awhile. Of course Al does not follow the rules--and he reverts to his background when he has to find out who murdered Maureen, a woman with many men friends--some of whom Al knew from days gone by.
