Although I actually used my own funds to purchase this book it is the author who is sponsoring this giveaway for me. She will be giving either a $25.00 Amazon GC or $25.00 PayPal PLUS an E-book Version of this book to one lucky winner at Miki's Hope. Of course you have to be 18 years of age or older and live somewhere Worldwide to enter and be able to accept this prize in order to be eligible. I will be using Rafflecopter to pick the winner and will email that winner who has to reply to my email within 48 hours with where they need their prize(s) to be sent. I will forward that info to the author. The author is responsible for getting the prizes to the winner. Since I will be making up the Rafflecopter--it will be EASY ENTRY as always!

A Dead Sister (Jessica Huntington Desert Cities Mystery Book 2) is every bit as good as A Dead Husband (read my review here). Jessica Huntington with no more hyphen as she keeps reminding everyone is really still angry and upset about her no good ex and the younger woman he took up with. She promises herself one year before she will even think of dating again. Uh Huh--- Plus she is still hurting from the beating she got from her last sleuthing job. When her sometimes best friend's cousin shows up and asks for her help--did I mention the best friend was possibly murdered many years ago--how can she say no. The last time she saw this friend they had a major fight. And she may also take a job and actually use her law degree. Shopaholic--yup--she is still at it!! That Black American Express Card--well lets just say thank heavens she is a trust fund baby--because she not only spends on herself--but on all her friends as well (and now it is all on her). Bernadette, who is more of a mother then a housekeeper is still one of my favorite character's!!

You really should read this series in order as it references back--but it is not totally necessary. I went and bought Book#3 already--that should tell you how much I enjoy this series. This one is non stop action and will keep you guessing and laughing at parts.

About the Book: (from Amazon)

Jessica Huntington's best friend, Kelly Fontana, was killed soon after graduating from high school. The victim of a hit-and-run accident in a Palm Springs hotel parking lot, the investigation into Kelly’s death quickly grew cold. When Kelly’s handsome cousin, Detective Frank Fontana, shows up in Rancho Mirage with news, the cold case heats up. Now, more than a decade after Kelly’s death, a lowlife meth addict swears: "It weren't no accident! It was on purpose." Who would do such a thing to the auburn-haired beauty with a voice like an angel and a streak of wild? Secrets, lies, drugs, and more turn up as Jessica, Frank, and their friends set out to discover who killed Kelly and why? Can Jessica get justice for her troubled friend?

About the Author: (from Amazon)

Life is an extravaganza of unpredictable dimension and proportion: figuring out how to hang tough and make the most of the wild ride is the challenge.

On my way to Oahu, to join the rock musician and high school drop-out I married in Tijuana, I was nabbed by the police as a runaway. When the police let me go and the rock band broke up, my husband and I had to find another way to survive. Our next stop: Disney World where we trained to be chefs, courtesy of the Walt Disney World University. A GED for my husband, and many more years of education landed us in academia at The Ohio State University. Retired now from my role as a professor in social work and behavioral science, I have picked up a long-time interest in writing fiction. I'm still married to the same sweet guy, and live with him in the Palm Springs area. In addition to reading and writing fiction, I enjoy painting, hiking, hanging out with my handsome husband and tending to my Siamese kitties.

I write the Jessica Huntington Desert Cities Mystery series, set here in and around Palm Springs, CA. As Jessica Huntington, amateur sleuth and calamity magnet, will tell you, the Sonoran Desert is a beautiful setting in which to ponder life's mysteries while enjoying the delights of the desert resort communities. A Dead Husband, Book 1, and A Dead Sister, Book 2, out now. Book 3, A DEAD DAUGHTER out soon. Look for Book 4, A DEAD MOTHER, in 2015. ALSO OUT NOW: LOVE, A FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND. This sweet romance is narrated by Jessica Huntington as she shares her friend, Bernadette's, tale of love, loss, and hope..."a real happily ever after story."
