Book Review - Angel Falls – Connie Mann

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

This book held my attention from the first page. Death, destruction, betrayal and ultimately love prevails. The main characters, Regina & Brooks, are well developed and extremely believable. I could feel their pain and their happiness through the writing of this author. Brazil, where the story unfolds is vividly brought to life for the reader from the slums to the beautiful waterfalls. This is not a pretty tale but one that will grip you and make you a believer in God’s infinite mercy! I would encourage everyone to read this book-I give it a 5 Star Rating!!

From the back of the book:

TWO LIVES COLLIDE IN A DEADLY RACE TO SAVE AN ORPHANED BABY.

Regina da Silva and Brooks Anderson have been so broken by their violent pasts that : they believe romantic love to be an illusion. Instead they focus on helping others: Regina reaches out to street kids while Brooks uses his military knowledge to organize rescue operations.

Their paths cross in Brazil when they are forced to work together to protect the orphaned baby of a dear friend. On the run and seeking safety in unexpected places, they soon realize that a killer is desperate to destroy not just the child but Brooks and Regina as well.

As the danger heightens around them, so does their attraction. Will their pasts stop them from realizing their true feelings for each other when their pursuer strives to keep them apart forever?

This book can be purchased at Amazon and Barnes & Nobel

Thanks for sharing this book with us. I can't wait to read it. It sounds like one that can't be put down once started. I just love books like that but tend to shut out the rest of world while reading.

I love this kind of stories. The more people try to part them, the more the love becomes stronger. The thrill also makes me want to read the book. I used to be so addicted in reading, but lately I am into blogging, but I will keep this book in mind. Thanks for always sharing a good book to read.

This sounds like a very interesting, complex story... just in the description you've given there seems to be so many threads intertwining.

I'm curious though, how strong are the religious tones of this book?

I have read Christian romance before, it was historical, and wonderfully written, and the biblical messages didn't beat me over the head, which I enjoy.
I like it when religious messages are apparent, but subtle, letting the reader figure out the moral lesson... not when they beat you over the head and tell you how you should live your life.

Michele--Thanks for getting a copy of TRAPPPED!, too. How fun. Hope you'll let me know what you think of it.

Heather--about the spiritual aspect to Angel Falls, it is definitely there--since I believe our God is a God of second chances!--but it's not heavy-handed, I don't think. I hope you'll let me know your reaction!

Have a great day, everyone!
