There are quite a few varieties of grapes--green and red are the most commonly found in the local markets. They also come in a variety of sizes and sweetness. I am a fan of green grapes. I have tried several different sizes and varieties. There are sugar grapes--these are pretty small but really SWEET! Then of course there are those that are referred to as Table grapes. These are generally too large for my liking-but were the only ones I could find for a while. Way back when my grandparents grew grapes in their backyard--I seem to remember they used them to make wine-or put out when we had company in a fruit bowl.

For most of my life the grapes were small--not tiny--but not really large. Then for about 6 months all I could buy were the really large ones (I think they call them table grapes) I remember thinking that if you were to give one to a child--you would have to cut them in half!! Then one day I looked at the bag and it said they were grown in Peru.

Finally, I began to see the size grapes I prefer--looked at the bag--these were grown in Chile. Well, I will keep buying those but I keep wondering--

Where are the grapes grown in the US--I am pretty sure I can take a guess-first droughts then excess rain where they were grown---I am hoping that one of these days they will return!!
