$25 Amazon/PP-1-WW-Murder at the New Dawn B&B-Dianne Harman Ends 2/11

Monday, January 27, 2020

The B&B that Brigid and Linc started has been going very well. The guests have been nice and completely satisfied with the service they receive. When the current guests arrived Brigid sensed something was amiss in the marriage but hoped they would work it out. Linc didn't like the husband at all!! Linc had known someone very much like him and was forever sorry he hadn't stepped in. He did listen to Brigid and stayed out of it somewhat.

The husband was making the wife miserable--she was allowed no friends-he was always accusing her of cheating on him. He even got into it with another guest who was having a normal dinner conversation with her. The wife had spent much of her marriage trying to pacify him.

Well, the couple took a walk into the woods--the wife came back but the husband decided to keep walking to try and calm down----

Next thing that happens is that Jet, the dog, is forcing Brigid to walk with him--they found the dead body of the husband. Of course they got the Sheriff involved and he and Brigid had to find out who killed him. It wasn't easy--but eventually they got to the bottom of it!!

Without giving who did it away--all I am going to say is some people need killing!!

Lots of twists and turns and since this is a B&B you know there are lots of delicious recipes at the end!!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

An unlikable guest
Who was abusive to his wife
A marriage in trouble
Someone thought he should be murdered
And he was

Brett reminds Linc of a time when he could have prevented an abusive spouse from hurting his wife, a close friend, and he’s always regretted it. Did he regret it enough to do something about it years later?

Could it have been the B & B guest who found Amanda irresistible and her husband’s treatment of her frightening? Or even her loving father, worried about his only daughter?

It’s up to Brigid and Sheriff Davis to find out just how abusive Brett was and who murdered him.

Plenty of dogs, recipes, and page-turning suspense in this, the 9th book in the Cottonwood Springs Cozy Mystery Series by a two-time USA Today Bestselling Author.

I hope that I would step in and help an abused person. I did take myself out of a verbally abusive relationship. Convicting someone of murder... I hope I would do the right thing again.. whatever it is.

No, I could never stand by and not help someone who was being abused. I am a natural helper and I hate seeing abuse. Could I convict a person who murdered their abuser? It depends on the circumstances. I would convict them if they responded to verbal abuse with murder, but I would not convict them if they were severely physically abused leading up to the murder.

Unfortunately I did encounter a similar situation, but I was unable to do much, so I did not intervene.

Call the police , I have stepped in and was told to mind my own business. I 'm not into
murder, the abuser needs to go to jail and get treatment. Most people that abuse were also abused as kids.

That's very difficult to answer. So much would depend on the circumstances. I hope I would be able to help at least in some way.

That’s a really interesting question. My gut reaction is to be sympathetic to the abuse victim but I would need to weigh the evidence carefully.

It really depends on the case. I think that I can't think of a situation where I wouldn't.. I mean I could always help in any way.. even if it's indirectly.

I would definitely try to help someone in that situation, but I don't think I can condone murder unless it was self defense.

I would like to think that I would stand up for anyone who was being mistreated, in any situation!

I believe in helping an abused person if possible. And I do not support murder of course but if it is for someone needing to save their life than I am not sure a conviction is necessary.

No way would I stand by if I knew someone was being abused. I always stick my nose in and have gotten in a few sticky situations but I just can't ignore things like that.

Being a DV survivor myself, I've got involved many times to help others.
Could I convict? Depends on the circumstances. I could have been in that position once when my ex tried to scare me by coming home early hours pretending to be a burglar coming through the back door. I was sitting terrified on my bed with a 45 aimed at my bedroom door when he opened it.
If I'd pulled the trigger would anyone have believed me??

I don;t think I would vote to convict someone for murder if they murdered their abuser, but it depends on the circumstances
