Book Review-A Killer Retreat (Lainswich Witches Book 20)-Raven Snow

Well when Rowen gets asked by her aunts to join them on a retreat--she hss no choice but to say yes. Her two cousins are convinced to go as well. Now remember Rowen and all her family are witches--why do her aunts want to go on a retreat given by someone who professes to know all about it-Rowen hasn't a clue.

Soon after arriving she gets one of her feelings--something bad is going to happen--but to who and where she isn't sure. Bored to tears and very tired she decides to accompany her two cousins back to the camp-they had been on a hike--they got very very lost. While stumbling along they happened upon a dead body. When they finally found their way back it was time to figure out who killed this person. Of course by now her aunts were not too happy with the leaders who didn't seem to care that Rowen and her cousins were lost.

There are twists and turns in this one--and it almost seems like the head of the retreat might have some powers after all--

I didn't figure this one out--until Rowen did!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

Crystal Spruce is a real class act. She’s everything that’s wrong with the New Age scene. She rakes in the cash, publishing book after book of hippy-dippy nonsense. Rowen Greensmith can’t stand her. More than that, she can’t understand why her aunts love her. They’re accomplished witches! They should really know better.

When Crystal Spruce starts up a magical retreat in Lainswich, Rowen gets roped into going. She owes her aunts a lot, so she can’t deny them what’s supposed to be a week of magical fun.

As is often the case, their week in the woods doesn’t quite go as expected. A murder derails everything. At least, the murder should derail everything. Rowen and two of her cousins were the ones who found the body. Unfortunately, they’ve lost track of it. How are they supposed to solve a murder when they can’t even convince people it happened in the first place?

Twentieth Volume of the Lainswich Witches Mystery Series. Approx. 50,000 words in length. It is a standalone (reading prior or future volumes not required to enjoy the book, no cliffhanger).
