#Ad Why I Read E-Books instead of Paperbacks Now

Saturday, April 8, 2017

It took me a long time to switch from paperback books to e-books. A lot of it had to do with the fact that my eyesight just is not what it used to be. AND my apartment was literally over run with books--everywhere!! I am semi retired and finances are tight and I was spending over $1,000 every year on books!! Something had to give!! Well first I collected the majority of those paperbacks and donated them to various places. Then I took the plunge and downloaded the free Kindle Reader.

About the only thing I don't like is that I have to sit at my desktop--lets just say my backside can get mighty sore!! But I can't afford a Kindle that I can move around with--What I love is that I can enlarge the print!!

Now there is a program called Kindle Unlimited which I do suggest everyone try--the price is reasonable. You can download and read as many books as you want for free--I am still trying to convince myself to get this!

What I end up doing is looking to see which authors I like or might like on an individual basis who are offering their books for FREE on Amazon for a specified time. This one is so very good--you really should not miss it!!

Then, of course there are lots of bloggers who put up posts for free and discounted books--there is a large one on my blog (none of the links on that post are mine!)that is hosted by several bloggers--each one has a different day of the week--and so many others as well.

To conclude--I do truly believe that children should start out with "real" books that they can hold and turn the pages. If you don't have the money for children's books--go to the LIBRARY--get those kids interested in and loving reading.

I made the switch a while back. They do have a phone app and if you don't have one of them, you can pick up a cheap phone or tablet. I use the mobile app and I can lay down in bed comfortably while I read.

I have the kindle, well Amazon Fire. I have Prime I just haven't took the plunge. Maybe reading this post will give me the little push I need because I do have to squint when I read. I have one more book that I am waiting for from Ginny Dye. I am in line at the library. I wish more people took advantage of the free services at their public library.

I love my kindle! With 4 kids I carry enough around so having the kindle makes it easier.
