Two of my 2017 Goals Met!

Sunday, January 1, 2017

I really do not make resolutions--far too frustrating for me when I can't keep them up. However that does not mean I don't set a couple of goals at the start of each New Year-subject to change and tweaking!! One of my goals for 2016 was to get my own taxes done as soon as possible in 2017. To this end I tried to keep my Quicken up all year--Guess what? Except for getting the mileage on my car and any last minute charges that are added to my accounts--I'm DONE. I finished yesterday!!!!! All I have to do now is wait for 1099's etc., get my copy of Turbo and I'm good to go. Now I can concentrate on getting my bookkeeping clients payroll quarterlies done--which means heading to Staples to pick up the forms. In 2017 I am GOING to remember to go to Deluxe and order them early, along with other supplies I might need. (I am an affiliate so if you purchase after clicking in I will get a small commission.) Then onward to getting their year end work ready for their accountants.

The second goal I met was I signed up once again for the Goodreads reading challenge. After 2016 when I missed by about ten I decided this year I would lower my expectations from 150 to 100--I signed up! Of course now I really have to start reading and writing up reviews again!

I have started my third goal for 2017 already (this morning actually). I took down some of the affiliate links on the left sidebar of my blog. They were not getting any attention and were just taking up space. More will probably be coming down and relatively soon. I will be keeping Lilla Rose (of course) and Puritan's Pride and Deluxe and American Tea Room. Which others would you like me to keep up there?

I do have some other ideas peculating in my brain at the moment--but first things first--get the year end stuff out of the way--then I can start on them. One of my major goals this year is to NOT LET MYSELF GET FRUSTRATED or overwhelmed. Oh yeah--least I forget I will be trying to make a little more money then I did this year--with the cost of my prescriptions--I have no real choice.

Taxes mostly done, now that is pretty incredible and how so organized you are! I am always late doing them, hate doing taxes because I always have to pay in. I actually have to go through affiliate links and figure out what to do with them. Happy New Year

Having your taxes ready in time was a big goal, congrats! I do not make NY resolutions either. I just want to feel happier and healthier which takes little goals of its own. Starting with my diabetes. Here's wishing you a wonderful New Year!

I seriously haven't even thought of what I need to do for the New Year, except organize our paperwork/bills! I start new with new folders and such. I feel so disorganized!

I don't really make resolutions either. I would like to start tallying my receipts for taxes early on so I'm not rushing to do it at the last minute.

I didn't make any resolutions at all this year. I'm glad you're keeping up with Lilla Rose. I am making up a new account right now. I want to get some hair sticks.

What a wonder you are, taxes? I can't even think about that!

Great that you are meeting your 2017 goals already! I struggle with weight and the Holidays sent me back (as always) so my first goal is to recommit and take some of this weight off. :)

I'm excited to see your upcoming reviews!! I did the same with a few ads on my site. I just didn't like the visual of it, especially when it wasn't getting clicked at all!

I think Gymboree is a good one to keep because I love their clothes! My goals for this year are to drink more water and quit drinking energy drinks! I will have to look into the good reads challange too!

Wow! A huge congratulations to you for already having your taxes done. I recently saw a commercial that mentioned tax season and my reaction was, "What, already?" so that should tell you where I am with that. I can't imagine you not meeting a book challenge goal, but 150 books is one lofty goal! I have no doubt in my mind that you will smash this year's goal of 100!

Good job. You're making me look bad. I am lucky to finish my taxes by April 15th. I try to get motivated, but spending money never sounds fun.

I am not a big fan of New Year's resolutions, but I am a big fan of making goals. I have many lists of things to do and also short term and long term goals.

It's awesome that you have kept some of your resolutions.I have been trying hard to keep up my resolution of exercising three times a week or more and shockingly I have been sticking to me.
