$25 Amazon/PP-1-WW-A Pet for Christmas and A Father for Christmas-Rachel Ayala-Ends 10/11

It will come as no surprise to anyone familiar with my blog that I love Rachel Ayala's books. I took the advice given and read A Father for Christmas first. This short novel will definitely tug at your heartstrings as 4 year old Bree decides that she needs a father and asks Santa for one. He promised her one--uh oh--promise a 4 year old something like that you know there is going to be trouble with a capital "T". But this is an enterprising young trouble maker and takes off in search of the father promised her in the mall--then she realizes she is lost and does not know where her Mom is. Homeless veteran Tyler Manning just happens to be there and Bree decided--you guessed it. Tyler almost gets arrested for kidnapping when they finally find her Mom. Can a damaged war veteran ad a single mom manage to overcome their own problems and fears with a host of other characters egging them on? On to A Pet for Christmas.

This one had me holding my breath and praying a lot! Tyler went back to Afghanistan leaving Kelly, Bree and their unborn son in the US. He gets in a load of really hot water----Meanwhile 5 year old Bree has told Santa what she really wants for Christmas and Santa tells her never to tell anyone else!! You will totally understand when you do find out what it is! I found myself with tears running down my face at the ending-very happy and hopeful tears. Rachelle Ayala has done it again!! These two short novels are a must read!!

And one final last word--G-d Bless ALL the veterans from all the wars-they are truly heroes.

Dedication
To those who still suffer the wounds of war.

Kelly Kennedy thought her life was finally on track. Engaged to the man of her dreams and with a baby on the way, she reassures her five-year-old daughter, Bree, that the father she picked for Christmas still loves her.

Unfortunately, war veteran Tyler Manning has been away most of the year. Recovering from PTSD isn’t easy. Rather than worry Kelly, Tyler spends his time traveling to Afghanistan to work at a children's charity he founded.

Kelly decides to distract Bree with promises of a pet for Christmas. When Tyler is taken hostage by terrorists, she finds it hard to convince Bree that they will truly be a family in time for Christmas.

A Pet for Christmas is a sequel A Father for Christmas. While it can be read as a standalone, you'll get more of the relationship aspect between Kelly, Tyler, and Bree by reading A Father for Christmas first.

These both sound like wonderful reads, the types of books you could read all year round, even better now though heading towards the festive season.

Thanks so much Miki for your review. I'm glad the stories touched you, and yes, we appreciate all the veterans and the men and women who are still out there serving and protecting. May you be blessed.

I love our vets! They are what holds this country together. I love that these are 2 part books. First wanting a Dad and getting one and then wanting a pet. Hmmm I wonder what she got? I will have to read and find out. I love reviews that leave me hanging and want to go a grab the book! Thanks!

That's a tough one. Every vet suffers differently, so I would need to know what the particular vet went through or their feelings, at least.

Don't give up, there is help for you. It takes time to get the right help. The US Departments can be slow.

I would thank them for their service and ask them to remember every life has value. If you're suffering, please, please, please reach out for help. Try to live as peaceful of a life as possible and get a dog because they're awesome companions.

Thank you so much for giving your life so that I could live mine with the knowledge that I would be safe. That I might not understand what they went through but that I am so appreciative of their gift.

Besos Sarah.

First and foremost I would thank them for all they have done and all of the sacrifices they have made. Then I would tell them to not be ashamed to ask for help because what they're going through is not something to even remotely be embarrassed about. It takes a strong person to seek help, anyone can run away and hide. They've already been so strong so let someone else help them and take off some of that burden

i hjust want the vets to know that help and love and support are out there!

I want the vets to know that they are appreciated and to hang in there and most importantly, to trust in God.

Thank you so much! Don't be scared to ask for help and count on someone for support.
