Cats are NOT owned--WE are their servants-just ask any one of them! We all LOVE our cats--but there are some things that cats do that can drive us slowly out of our minds. Take mine for instance. Baby is usually a sweet and loving kitty until I forget all the training I have received at her paws. For instance--do NOT come home late or I will hear a loud and indignant meow and my ankles are gently nipped if I dare to go near the outside door again. More then 2 clumps in the litter box? Suddenly I hear her scratching--cleaning it out by herself--not the clumps mind you--but suddenly there is lots of litter surrounding her litter box which obviously I then have to clean up while she sits watching me--smiling--. See the chair that Baby is lying down upon looking so innocent? She uses that as a scratching post. And before you say anything-YES she has a real scratching post which she does use occasionally. This was all accomplished before I realized what she was up to and it was too late to get plastic covers of some sort. Oh well----

Talking about cats and scratching--how is your carpet doing--you know the places--those spots in front of the doors which you close occasionally? I don't have this problem since I have been well trained to leave all doors open at all times-(not the front door)-thankfully I am single and live alone! For whatever reason, cats DO NOT LIKE nor do they approve of closed doors. Heavens only knows what their human is up to--and they are bound and determined to find out. So as they attempt to open that pesky obstruction that we call a door they virtually shred the carpeting!! For those of you who really need to close doors there is a solution! And it a whole lot more affordable then replacing carpet!

And there is even a video you can watch Click here

And they tell you how to measure your doorways to get the perfect fit as well as answer other questions you may have Click Here They come in sizes 28", 30" or 32".

And here is where you can purchase your very own CarPET Scratch Stopper or two or three--at $24.95 a piece you at least will be happy (not so much your cat!)

Just like a couple of your other commenters, I do not have cats (I have four dogs). But my daughter has two, and I am passing this along to her. Thanks!

I am totally getting this for my inlaws. They have a cat that scratches everything in sight.

Melissa Pezza said...

I have a friend who has a couple of cats, and her carpet has been destroyed. I'll have to let her know about this. Thanks!

Jennifer said...

I'm so allergic to cats. I can't even get near them. I guess everything works out, because my carpet doesn't look like that.

valmg @ Mom Knows It All said...

I have a cat. He doesn't care about doors. He never uses his claws on furniture or carpet. The only thing he uses his claws on are boxes, he shreds them!

Heather Jones said...

I'm going to enter!! We have a new kitten and her claws are driving me crazy even though we have soft paws on her right now! Thanks for the giveaway!!

Nancy said...

If I won, this would be for our daughter. Her cat scratches at their bedroom door when it is breakfast time.

My pesky cats love scratching at the door, I'd love to get this scratch stopper!

Unknown said...

I had two cats who used to tear up the furniture. If I ever had cats again, I would definitely want one of these.

Liz Mays said...

They really aren't afraid to speak their mind, are they? Cats are not shy about their feelings!

That's awesome! Under the door where she "lives" at night is the only spot we haven't managed to get her to stop scratching! :)

I only have one obstinate little princess to contend with but she is like have 3 or 4 cats, she claws my carpets,my furniture that once looked brand new looks scratched and shredded and I cover my chairs with coats, towels, anything I can hang on them, not to mention my window sills she likes to lay in and wakes up clawing, and she claws the back of my couch, which is fabric not wood.so yes I'd like to try this,I didn't have the heart to de-claw her but my house is paying for it.

Cats! They have such personalities! I have always grown up with dogs but my husband had cats... of course we compromised and got a dog! I wanted to get a cat also but I don't think our pug would have got along. But surprisingly pugs scratch a lot like cats and used their paws more than their mouths, it's funny to see them acting so much like a cat... a clumsy one albeit! This could come in helpful for us too!

Holly @ Woman Tribune said...

This is such an ingenious idea, and something I could really use with 5 cats. My poor carpets in our upstairs hallway. They have been through hell with one of our cats. In front of every bedroom door is a ripped carpet. Sigh. She's lucky I love her.

Manu Kalia said...

Glad to know there's a great way to fix this kind of problem in a carpet.

Melissa said...

We don't have cats anymore, but when we did, I could've used about ten of these! I'll have to remember about them when I finally cave & get my youngest a kitten.

mail4rosey said...

What a great idea to help save the carpets, and it looks nice too! Sounds like cats and kids have some things in common. ;) I laughed about them not liking closed doors.

Unknown said...

I had no idea about this Carpet scratch stopper. It really would have been handy when we had a cat. Have to note it down for the future.

Soiree Design Studio said...

We have a puppy and interesting enough, they scratch too! Not as much as a cat I would guess. Great product!

Ckrusch said...

Love it! Will share it with friends who have cats!

Unknown said...

My mom has a cat and you're not kidding when you say that cat's aren't owned, it's like being a servant, lol! My mom could probably use a CarPET Scratch Stopper, I'll definitely recommend it to her!

Unknown said...

This would make a great gift to friends that just adopted a new cat or kitten too!

Unknown said...

What a brilliant idea! I love this idea - I have two kitties that need this! :)

Unknown said...

My mom needs this! Four cats at her house that have taken her furniture to task, for sure!

jaime said...

I have a cat and she rules the house. She has also ruined a couch. This would be so great for some of the places she likes to use as a scratching post!

krystal said...

Wow, that would be SO helpful to have on hand. We have carpets and dogs who like to scratch!

Susie Buetow said...

WOW I never knew such a product existed. We have 3 cat and one of them is a crazy door scratcher if bedroom doors are shut. We totally need this.

Stefany T said...

This is an awesome product! I have a cat that likes to destroy the carpet.

Unknown said...

I could really use this in my room, I already have a little spot where they decided to dig at and I need something over it so it doesn't get any bigger.

Theresa Mahoney said...

That's actually brilliant! I had a dog that did not like closed doors either and I have a nice chunk taken out of my carpet in my bedroom by the door that he scratched and chewed up. I sure could have used this when he was alive!

My Daughter just got a new kitten. It is a holy terror so I am sure she is going to need something to stop it before it detroys everything in her house.

We had hardwood floors now but this sure would have been helpful when I had a house full of carpet!

I don't have kitties but I have a friend that does and loves giveaways! I will be sure to send her your way! =)

What a great idea! My kitty used to scratch the carpet all the time. And your cat is super cute. Thanks for the giveaway.

This is an innovative solution! I have a couple of dogs that this could have been helpful for.

Such a brat cat.. I think they think they are prince or princess.. I am not a cat lover, I don't hate them either, I just can't handle them especially the litter box thingy. Thanks for providing solution to the carpet problem.

We just adopted a kitty last night. We don't have any carpet in our house, so I fear for our furniture!! I read the page about declawing on the Carpet Scratch Stopper site. It's sad and makes me realize that I don't want to do that to our little guy.

Unknown said...

My cat has done a number on our home for sure! Everything from our bed (pleather) to our shelving unit!

Okay this is a very cute story indeed. I don't have a cat but I do love them. My sons and myself are allergic. Anyway this would be a perfect gift for my brother who does have a spoiled cat. Thanks for sharing.

I have a cat and he scratches everything else but the carpet. Should I be thrilled that my furniture is shredded but my carpet is intact? Oy! Interesting product!

I don't have a cat but this seems like a fabulous giveaway for cat owners!

We have a new cat that loves to find hiding places to catch a nap, but he gets shut up in a room and then scratches at the carpet to get out. He has one particular room he sneeks into that the Scratch Stopper would be awesome to put at the doorway!

I would love this! I have a three month old kitten that I need this for so my husband doesn't take her in to get declawed.

Unknown said...

I do have a cat and she does have claws and she scratches my couch sides they are all ripped up because of her. I have tried other forms of aversion therapy but she still does it !

What an ingenious product! I have three cats that love to scratch around our bedroom closet door because it's always closed. The CarPET would be the perfect fix for that. My Mom and sister each have three cats as well so I will pass the word along about this awesome product!

Unknown said...

What a great idea! Thankfully our adult cat, Marbles, only scratches on his scratch board. Our newest addition, who we found on the side of the road, (I call her Mistress Pickle Puss for the sour face she gives me right before letting out her screams when I've been gone for a while lol) does scratch on the carpet some, but it's not by the doors, it's right in the middle of the room where she gets the most attention! I'll find something for her. Until then, I'll pass this along to my kitty-loving friends!

Kwolek21 said...

It is supposed to stop carpet scratching instantly. I have a carpeted step that our cats have destroyed.

Unknown said...

This would definitely help in my house! We have two cats who always want to be on the opposite side of any closed door. I'd like to be able to shut my bedroom door at night sometimes to keep them out, but they destroy the carpet when I try. This would be a great solution. Thanks for the giveaway!

I have 6 cats and this would be great to help protect my carpet. I have a cat (Buster, tuxedo cat) who fishes his kibble out of the bowl 1 piece at a time with his paw.

Julie Waldron said...

We don't have any cats and the ones we have had have all been outdoor/farm cats. If I won this, I would give it to my mom. She has an indoor cat and he loves to scratch.

learned it fits standard U.S. door sizes

Gracie L. said...

My carpet shark loves to scratch in front of pretty much ANY closed door. I could really use this product.

Unknown said...

This would be for my home. My cat hates not being in the same room I'm in. I learned that this stays in place.

toddy said...

This would really help. I learned this has a 5 year warranty. My cat loves to lay in the window and watch the birds.

Unknown said...

I would red lovers at heart.

toastersareflying said...

I learned that it comes in different sizes. We have one cat who tries to dig her way into my husband's office and has pulled the carpet completely up. This would be great for her.

Dhjax11 said...

Love how they come in different sizes to fit any doorway. This is a wonderful product that I'd love to have as we just purchaed a new home and this would be amazing to put at the bedroom door when it's closed to keep the carpets looking new and nice. Thanks for the Chsnce to win. I've got a quirky but smart kitty. When he does somethig wrong and you tell him he's bad he runs into a crate like a dog.....when he comes out he acts all sweet and does a funny little chirpy meow so you don't fuss at him....
