Book Review - The Emissary:A Novel -Patricia Cori

Monday, January 20, 2014

This is a fictional novel but it is based on some things which are occurring even as I write. Click here for an article on this subject. For some reason which I will never understand our military (I think it is the Navy) is releasing sonic sound waves deep within the oceans. That this is harmful to all beings that live in those oceans should be self evident-especially since, at the very least, sound waves are how whales and dolphins communicate! This fiction/adventure/fantasy novel is about what could happen ultimately. And it is frightening! This is the first book in a 3 book series-quess who will be reading the next two as well as a couple of other books by this author!

"CAN SHE DELIVER THE "MESSAGE" IN TIME TO SAVE THE WORLD?

What is the Secret of the Great Whales?
Can Psychic Medium Jamie Hastings Tune into Their Desperate Communications
In Time to Prevent a Global Armageddon?"

About the Book: (from Amazon)

In her debut novel, Patricia Cori weaves her visionary message into a page-turning fantasy adventure that speaks to the very soul of the planet.

Within minutes of one another, three bone-chilling events take place around the globe. In Los Angeles, hundreds of blackbirds drop out of the sky, zapped to their death, mid-flight; in Maine, miles of beach are covered in tens of thousands of dead fish; in New Zealand, 150 whales and dolphins lie dead or dying on the beach.

Jamie Hastings, a renowned psychic researcher and telepath, forges a deep soul connection with the dying whales that leads to her troubled journey at sea as a consultant for USOIL, a Texas based oil company that's drilling in the most pristine waters of the Pacific Northwest, looking for oil--or so it seems. A bizarre unfolding of events aboard ship sparks the unraveling of a truly evil plan of a secret government that is intent upon silencing the music of the oceans and destroying all life on the planet.

As impossible as it is to imagine anything as sinister as the shadow Jamie faces in her mission to save the earth from the doomsday weapon bearing down on the world, the fact is that it is actually happening, at this very moment, while most of the world is asleep--or simply unaware.

One woman has been chosen to be the voice, against the forces of evil, of the cherished creatures of the sea. She is the emissary.

The question is: Is there still time for her to stop it?

A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Patricia Cori has been immersed in the New Thought Movement since its inception there in the early 1970??s. She is a world-renowned author, teacher/lecturer and spiritual guide to the sacred sites of the Earth.

She has been recognized and celebrated as a gifted shaman by indigenous spirit teachers of the Tibetan, Mayan and Peruvian traditions. In 1996, she established SoulQuest Journeys, and that year led a group of spirit travelers, to whom she introduced the sacred temples and breathtaking spirit of the Tibetan landscape, to Nepal and Tibet. She has since guided people through sacred sites in Asia, Mexico, Egypt, Europe and Peru, awakening them to Earth energies and the Secret Wisdom. Her latest best-selling book, BEFORE WE LEAVE YOU: MESSAGES FROM THE GREAT WHALES AND THE DOLPHIN BEINGS, is receiving rave reviews. Through it, she reveals startling revelations from the Cetacean Nation as to the evolutionary crisis of the Planet, the urgency for humankind to respond, and the galactic role the Cetaceans are playing in weaving the harmonics of the earth through the seas.

Her latest project - LITTLE BOOKS by Patricia Cori - launched in July 2013 will provide her readers with a collection of short, concise works on topics about which she is impassioned and knowledgeable, as digital editions released through kindle on amazon. Volume 1, HEAVEN IS HERE, BENEATH A TREE, is a moving collection of her artistry as a photographer and artist, and poems which reflect her love of the earth and her visions of the beyond.

A true spirit leader, Patricia Cori is weaving her own music into the souls of her readers, calling upon humankind to wake up and take its true role of leadership for the preservation of the magnificent Planet Earth. She is most definitely a force to be dealt with!

Since I care very much about the animals of our ocean, this is especially interesting to me. I realize it's fiction, but it still grabs my interest due to the subject.

I HAVE to get this one for my husband. He is a military man and loves conspiracy theory (true or fiction), so this book is right up his alley!

So much fiction is based on fact and if this is ocurring... it really needs to be looked into. Why is it that everyone thinks they can mess with mother nature?

I hadn't heard of this book or author before, so thanks for the introduction. I like that the book is based on things that are occurring as we speak (not that I am happy these things are occurring, but I live that it is relevant). I will have to look for this one, as I don't like nature being messed with and I am curious about the story!

Wow, that's some serious subject matter! I hope it raises some awareness of what's going on in the real world. This sounds like something my hubby and I might enjoy to read.

I am a great fan of Tom Clancy novels due to his topics on Navy Seals and Black Ops. This sounds like somewhere along the similar lines. I will check for this author at our local library..

This deals with a topic I don't know much about. But it sounds like it could be a really great story that could get you to think a lot about what is actually happening in our world.

I have not ever done a book review before. I think I take too long to read to even try a review maybe if I found just the right book I would.

Sounds like a really interesting book! And I can understand why Navy would do it. They do experiments all the time to see what works and what does not. Sadly the experiments affect the world around us.

I bet my husband and my oldest would love to read this, they love the military books. I do not understand why they would think sending sound waves would be a good idea - who knows why they do what they do (sometimes I do not think event they know.)

I know you said it was a fictional book but man, the thought of all those birds suddenly falling out of the sky scared me. Hope we never come to this in real life. Thank you for the review!

Sounds like a good story, Wish I had extra time but two kids and a husband seem to sum it up.

Sounds interesting. My heart stopped a bit at the dead whales and dolphins. Why would that disturb me more than the image of dead birds or fish?
