I was 13 years old in 1963 and remember the day JFK was shot like it was yesterday. I was in school and they called us all into the auditorium to let us know. We were all in shock. The entire country was in shock. The one picture that still is in my mind is of his little boy saluting his Dad's grave-standing next to his Mom and sister. It was heart wrenching. Even though this novel is totally fiction there is a part of me that wishes it could really happen!

Imagine being able to time travel and change the course of history-even though you really aren't supposed to. When Cady Cuyler is "fired" from her long running acting job in a soap opera she is upset-but more about how she will be able to take care of her Mom, who has never recovered from her husbands, Cady's Dad, disappearance just before Cady was born. Given a tip about an acting job from her ex husband who is also her agent she meets with an elderly gentleman who is bound and determined to acquire the Bible owned by JFK. It just so happens that this gentleman's son has created a time machine-and after much thought-Cady agrees. Her Dad disappeared at about the same time as she will be time traveling to and she really does want to know what happened to her father. What she finds is not what she expects. I am very glad I read this novel and give it a 5 star!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

WHERE WERE YOU THE DAY KENNEDY WAS SAVED?
On the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination comes a new edition of the extraordinary time-travel thriller first published in 2003 with a new Afterword from the authors.

On November 22, 1963, just hours after President Kennedy’s assassination, Lyndon Johnson was sworn in as President aboard Air Force One using JFK’s own Bible. Immediately afterward, the Bible disappeared. It has never been recovered. Today, its value would be beyond price.

In the year 2000, actress Cady Cuyler is recruited to return to 1963 for this Bible—while also discovering why her father disappeared in the same city, on the same tragic day. Finding frightening links between them will lead Cady to a far more perilous mission: to somehow prevent the President’s murder, with one unlikely ally: an ex-Marine named Lee Harvey Oswald.

Forward to Camelot: 50th Anniversary Edition brings together an unlikely trio: a gallant president, the young patriot who risks his own life to save him, and the woman who knows their future, who is desperate to save them both.

History CAN be altered …

I think this book sounds awesome. As much as I would like to read it, my husband would LOVE to read it. He's fascinated by anything related to JFK and his assassination.

This sounds like such a fun read. Normally time travel can get confusing this one sounds like to follows more the adventure instead of the "sci-fi" behind time travel.

Time travel is such an intriguing topic. I wonder if we'd do it if we could...so hard to say!!! Thank you for the chapter reveal!

I would be interested in this book. I think Billy Graham was friends with JFK, as he is with most of the presidents. Thanks for the wonderful review!

Thank y'all (I live in the South) for the nice comments! I agree about time travel - I've thought hard about what I'd do if I really could choose to go back in time - honestly not sure if I would or not! But if it were to save JFK -- ? Well, since we've already done it, I think I'd have to say yes! Hope you'll get a chance to read the whole book and decide for yourselves!

I was 8 when President Kennedy was shot and I remember it very clearly. I love this story line. I think it would be a very interesting read.

I am intrigued by the prospect of being able to travel back in time and change the course of history. If only we could do that in real life.

You're all right with your comments! There's a LOT of real history in this novel; we let the facts lead the fiction, and I think you'll read some stuff here you've never learned before ... but I assure you, it's true! We're thrilled with the responses from readers and hope you'll feel the same way when you've read it - by all means, let us know!

Very intriguing book, but I don't think I will read this anytime soon.

For everyone who is interested, there's a much longer sample at Amazon (link posted above), which we hope will give you a better idea of where we're going. The time travel is just a device to get us back to 1963, and from there it's all about history and adventure -- hope you'll give it a shot!

What a combination of true facts, fiction and time travel, really a fascinating book. The very best time travel I have read on the subject of saving President Kennedy.. O, if only it were true. .FORWARD TO CAMELOT is full of fast moving action and twists. This is one you don't want to miss.
