This is the second book by this author being promoted by Pump Up Your Book and featured here on Miki's Hope. I think I might have to read these-IN THE DAYTIME!! Long Island is a bit too close to where I live as the Circada's fly!!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

Seth is laid off from work. His wife Lara just found out they are expecting a baby this summer. Seth plans on documenting the entire pregnancy with his brand new digital camcorder.

During an evening home watching television, the news reports that a swarm of cicada (Brood Ten) are expected to overwhelm the entire Northeast.

Brood Ten is vicious and ready to invade.

During a sweltering summer night, Brood Ten emerges and wreaks havoc with the electric grid, phone and cell service, wi-fi, food and water supply. Civilization as they know it is gone.

Seth and Lara are thrown back to the stone age in their own home with trillions of cicada trying to deposit their eggs and breed.

Fast paced and filled with tension, Brood Ten is the perfect summer read when you’re sitting outside listening to the cicadas sing.

This book can be purchased at Amazon

I would run and scream and hide until someone told me the coast was clear! A swarm of 15-20 cicadas surrounded me this past summer when I had just gotten out of my grandmother's swimming pool and I screamed and stood completely still...they flew away within a few seconds but it was really really freaky!!!

Interesting plot of the story, especially when the characters are turned to Stone Age living conditions and how they managed to survive, or what happened at the end, just curious.

I have a very irrational fear of bugs. If I ever had a swarm attack, I would most likely pass out. As is my heart races and I start gagging if a bug lands on me. I know it is completely irrational, but I can't help it.

I'd love to think that I would do something smart, but more than likely I would freak out and then try and hide...or just cower right there, hoping to outlast them.

Grab my husband survival gear, find someone with an air tight bomb shelter and hide. Great idea in theory, though I'm not sure why they would let us in.
