Once Clenna responds (within 48 hours) to the email I am about to send her with her full name, email and mailing address I will forward the info on to the author who will be mailing the book directly to her.

Up until very recently I have always been overweight, obese really. I loved to eat and my Dad’s Mom LOVED to cook!! My Mom’s Mom probably had the right idea however-her motto was she ate to live not lived to eat! Thankfully I did learn to eat fresh veggies right out of her garden as a toddler—of course my love of home made whipped cream and cookies came from the other side of the family. Since I was highly allergic to chocolate and wheat when I was a child – once those allergies disappeared – guess who went hog wild with them up until very recently. THEN, the day before I turned 62 I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I was upset for maybe a day then decided since I had been able to change my eating habits back when they wanted to remove my gallbladder so that I could keep that organ safely in my body (please note here-I am allergic to anesthetics) I could change my eating habits once again. The diabetes did give me a head start—I had lost 45 pounds the month before and although I always drank water was drinking it at gallons a day!! It is called mind over matter and although I was asked to review this book after the fact I have to say that I agree with almost everything he says!

Up until diabetes I was always trying diet after diet—I was always able to lose 20 lbs—but always put it back on and then some. I would get discouraged, didn’t like the taste of the food, would get bored and would always go back to eating potato chops, chocolate and the easiest dinner for me to prepare for myself-spaghetti. Cookies—heck I could eat an entire box at one sitting—Well I changed my mindset and in one month went from a blood sugar count of 400 to approx 120-it is even lower now. AND I am still losing weight!! OK, I had no real choice (I hate needles and am not too happy about taking medicine either which helped). Changing your habits is what it is all about. My doctor is still amazed I was able to do this—especially since I don’t seem to be following any SET DIET or PLAN—but he loves it.

In Stan Spencer’s book “The Diet Dropout’s Guide to Natural Weight Loss-Find Your Easiest Path to Naturally Thin” he pretty much outlines how everyone can do this—and explains how to curb those cravings! He even includes recipes at the end of the book which actually sound quite good.

From the back of the book:

NO HYPE. NO FLUFF. This slim book is packed with myth-busting facts and practical advice.

YOU WILL LEARN

The truth about common weight loss myths
The secret to losing weight and keeping it off
Why “fat genes” can’t keep you from being thin

I learned that this book offers a solid approach to weight loss—self-directed, gradual, and lasting—in contrast to the quick but fleeting weight loss offered by most one-size-fits-all diet plans.

I learned that we really need to take control of us not what someone else is doing as we are all different. In the final chapter he has you create a natural weight loss plan based on your unique set of needs, abilities, and preferences because it is about how YOU lose or gain and not everyone else.
