  9. We don't have Thanksgiving in my country but i like to write little notes to say thanks or give a little present to my family ( and sometimes friends when i can) just to say how grateful i am to have them and for that 1 day isn't required i can do it all year long

  12. I will be making Thanksgiving dinner for my extended family! We do a pot luck, so all I have to make is the turkey, but cleaning my house is the bigger deal then cooking the food! I can't wait!

  14. I honestly have no idea what we are doing for Thanksgiving. It is our first one back in the states in 6 years . We just moved so have no friends or family nearby but we will make the best of it as we always do :)

  19. I love Thanksgiving!! I'll spend the whole morning cooking, and the whole evening eating!! LOL. It's probably my most favorite holiday of the year, and I'm really looking forward to it!

We really haven't thought about it yet, but usually we stay close to home and have a meal just our immediate family or go to a restaurant in town that usually has a buffet if I don't want to cook. I also go over the store flyers and hubby and I plan our Black Friday shopping strategy while looking for amazing deals online all day. Oh, and usually we get some tamales in addition to turkey for Thanksgiving.

  21. My parents, myself, and my husband take vacations on Thanksgiving every year. We all love to travel and see new place, plus we can pick out really interesting restaurants to do Thanksgiving dinner. With only four of us, it's hard to have that traditional big Thanksgiving, so this is a way we can turn it in to something big!

  39. We wil be visiting Hubz' sister and mother--87 years old! Though they live in a different city, they are close enough to drive, so I always bring some pans of food. My SIL will handle the turkey and traditional fixin's; I'll bring something for the next day along with some desserts.

  41. In our family, we take turns hosting Thanksgiving. Last year it was my turn; this year it's my sister's. I'll be bringing a fruit compote and some other side dish...maybe even a pie or two :)

One of my traditions is mixing up all the seats , so no one sits next to there partner or family member or what ever lol,, just mixing up the people so everyone can get in on the conversations and feel like this is there home to..

  92. My daughter and I are going to be cooking again this year. This will be the 4th year without my oldest son, after the first year, my brother and sister and their families stopped coming to my dad's for the holiday, I think it was just too hard for them. The second year, we started a new tradition, because we are all different people now. My daughter and I cook and my twin boys entertain their kids and my daughters kids. This will be our third year doing it and we have so much fun, that we are actually looking forward to the holiday.

  101. I have already celebrated Thanksgiving, as I live in Canada. I also celebrate twice! Once with my mother and my sister and family...we all decided to go out to a buffet-style restaurant. We said what we were thankful for, and toasted to a great Thanksgiving. Then, I and my sister and family, celebrated with my father, at his home. We again, said what we were thankful for, wished everyone well, toasted, and ate!

  123. I'll be doing the same thing I do for all holidays. I stay home, have a dinner and watch movies. My sisters and I aren't that close. We'll call each other, but since i live farther away from them, I don't get to see them much. With my medical issues, it's easier for me to be closer to my own home and doctors. I'm ok with all this and kind of used to the way it is :)

  134. My Mom's coming to my house, and I'm going to cook for her, for a change. She cooked last year, and by the time she was done, her knees hurt so bad that she couldn't enjoy all the good food and the hard work it took her to cook it. She's been cooking for the whole family forever, so it's time for her to just enjoy eating and spending time with the family.

  159. I cook a big turkey in the roaster for our family, we have my parents and other relatives come over. We have all the traditional foods, like cranberry sauce ( homemade) pumpkin pie, Apple pie, blueberry pie, mashed potatoes and gravy, a veggie side, rolls, stuffing! Its very lovely!

Then we all usually head to our hunting cabin on our 350 acres and spend the rest of the day and night hunting, fishing and just being disconnected from the rest of the world.

  179. This Thanksgiving I am doing the Thanksgiving dinner. I have family flying out from Ohio to celebrate with us. I having about 80 people for dinner. It should be fun.

  186. I am a retail manager, so unfortunately I have to work every Thanksgiving (and every other holiday too). This year my Mother-in-Law is hosting dinner and I will stop in for a very quick dinner before heading to work.

  189. I know this is going to sound very strange to some people, but my favorite tradition is going to Denny's with my parents and going to see a movie. We started that tradition back in '94 (although it was 2 movies and a Howard Johnson's the first time). :D

  193. Actually this year my daughter and I will be at Animal Kingdom. Last year, my daughter and I hosted six people at our place for Thanksgiving that needed a meal last year. That was a lot of fun.
