This book moved seamlessly from one situation to the next. You first find out about the 3 lifelong friends who grew up in a very small place called Water Hole Branch. They were pretty much inseparable until the unthinkable happened--the boys parents were murdered and Camilla and her mother were taken away by the murderers. You don't hear too much about Brian and Camille but you learn how Hunter becomes rich in the financial world. Hunter has never forgotten what happened all those years ago and determines to find the gold that was supposedly left by the Spanish years and years ago and was the reason his world was torn apart.

Will Hunter be able to find this gold or was it just one of those small town rumors? Will he ever see his friends again? To find out-read the book. It truly is well written and will keep you entertained!! There might be a sequel in the works-or at least there could be the way the book ends!
