Books You Saw on Miki's Hope in 2014

I have read so many marvelous books by great authors this year I don’t even know where to begin. I actually can not pick a favorite author (forget me trying to pick a favorite book-it isn’t going to happen). What I finally decided to do is just use Goodreads stats and links (you can find them at the bottom of this post. I may or may not have read every book every author I love has written but I’ve come pretty close as anyone who follows me will testify. You can find reviews still on my blog under the category Books.

But before the list I would like to answer some remarks I am forever getting on my blog comments, on Facebook comments, on G+ comments and yes even on Twitter comments.

The one most prevalent is: “How do you find the time to read so much?”

Answer: I am now semi retired and I love to read so when I’m not working at a bookkeeping client or trying to keep up on Facebook groups—I read, sometimes 2 or 3 at a time (2 paperbacks and 1 Kindle. The Kindle is on my computer which is why I prefer paperbacks). It truly is not comfortable sitting at the computer and reading. I would like to thank all the authors who send me paperbacks-you are truly saving my backside!

Another question I get is “Are you a speed reader? How can you read so many books?”

Answer: I am not a verified speed reader-but I am a fast reader especially if the book has my total attention and interest. Remember, not all books are the same length so some are relatively short and take me no time at all—others well--.

I do try and keep my reviews short and to the point (that is my accounting degree and environmental science degree training mostly). I realize that not everyone likes the same books so I try to give my opinion then add the description from Amazon (and NO I am not an affiliate) and the url where people can go to read a chapter or two. I also attempt to put up something about each author. Did you ever try to find Facebook, Goodreads, Twitter, Websites or a pic and bio about an author if it wasn’t on Amazon–take it from me—it is not always easy. (Authors please take note!!).

Okay—enough of that—any other questions you want answered—put them in the comments and I will attempt to answer them.

According to Goodreads in 2014 I read 185 books (and reviewed them I believe) and still a few more I have coming and some that I read from the same authors in prior years!!- click here it will take you to the list I hope!!

This link will take you to the covers

And remember--not everyone likes the same books, but all books (and authors) deserve a chance. Do NOT judge a book by it's cover! Go in and read those free chapters-you might find that you would like it! And Parents--please check out books before buying them for your children--not all children are at the same level and only you will know for sure if the book belongs in your child's library.

And last but not least I would like to thank each and every one of you who reads and comments on my blog. It is very much appreciated.

  28. Reading was my hobby, my passion. Then I went back to college and then grad school. Who has time to read then? LOL I am slowly getting back into the reading game. Even though I have an iPad and read a lot that way, I much more prefer to have a real book in my hand.
