$25 Amazon/PP-1--WW Murder at the Dog Show-Dianne Harman Ends 7/3

Wednesday, June 17, 2020

This dog show judge reminded me of Cruella!! She had dogs of her own but was a vindictive, very rich woman who wanted what she wanted and who she wanted and the heck with anyone else! Marty was asked to appraise her collection and went to ask her friend at the antique store what he knew about her. Nothing good--that is for certain. And her friend had a very spoiled little dog who was going to be in a show where this woman was a judge! Turns out she was seeing the guy who was going to show the dog--and when he mentioned it she told him no way would that dog win!! He didn't believe her--the dog lost. There were several other people who had it out for her as well--for very good reasons!!

Right after the show had ended this woman was found dead in her car! Marty had no choice but to get involved as her detective husband was busy with another high profile case. She managed to speak to all of the suspects--but they all had alibis!

The murderer was never caught--although you will know who did it.

Lots of twists and turns in this story of dog lovers and shows. I am sure you will enjoy this one as much as I did!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

Everyone thinks their dog is special.
But special enough for someone to commit murder?

Dog show judge Deidre Rogers had enemies, a lot of enemies, and someone hated her enough to kill her.

And it wasn’t only the dog show people who hated her. When a woman’s as rich as Deidre and feels entitled to have whatever she wants, including other women’s husbands, it’s not surprising she had a long list of people who would like to see her dead.

When Marty begins to investigate her murder, she finds a trail of people with motives ranging from revenge to greed, not to mention bruised egos.

Don’t miss this cozy mystery page-turner from a USA Today Bestselling Author and Amazon All-Star.

This is the 11th book in the High Desert Cozy Mystery Series.

I did go to a dog show many years ago. It was interesting seeing all of the different breeds and watching the judging.
I now have my grand-doggie living with me as my son and his ex (they have a mortgage so they're still living in the same house) weren't able to take care of three dogs during the pandemic and lock down working so many hours. Dumpty is going to be 14 on July 4th and he hated going to work with them and loves cuddles so he's with grandma now. I don't dress him up except during cold weather when he wears a sweater. I don't think it's a problem to dress up your dog as long as they're okay with it.

I've never entered or been to a dog show. I don't currently have a small dog, but when I did, she wouldn't allow me to dress her up in clothing, not even a sweater during the winter and the only jewels she wore were rhinestones on her collar.

I’ve never been to a dog show. Honestly, I love dogs, but am not sure I want to go to a dog show. As a younger person, I raised show rabbits for 4H as well as a lamb. Showing them and winning always meant they would be auctioned off ...whether I wanted it or not. Now I know it doesn’t happen with dogs and cats...I still think my love of them includes lots of love and cuddles. For some reason...and I don’t know why...I feel like that loving the animal and mutual affection would not be the primary purpose of the animal’s existence. It would be more like a status symbol. With that said, a former work colleague raises Salukis for show...and she dearly loves them. So aren’t I the crazy one?

As far as the dressing up or jewels, no I probably wouldn’t. I know my little mixed breed dog would have hated it.

I've never been to a dog show. I don't have any dogs. If someone wants to put clothing and jewelry on their dog I think it would be okay if he or she didn't mind.

I've never been to an in-person dog show only saw them on TV. My dog won't wear clothes other than her winter sweater or coat

I've never entered our dog into a show or been to one. I think a little bit of clothing on dogs is cute. I bought our dog a winter "coat" today, she didn't seem to mind when I tried it on her.

I have never been to a dog show. Our big dogs were not in to dress up. As youngest we did dress up our cat, who was not a happy camper.

I have never entered a dog show but currently I have 2 small dogs. Normally have a large dog also but he passed a few years ago. I tried to put a sweater on my small dog once and he was mad. He refused to move. Would not walk or sit down or anything until I took it off him. So even though I thought it would look cute he did not and he won. Thanks you the chance.
