Book Review-Never Doubt a Duke (Fortune's Brides Book 1)-Regina Scott

What a sweet and clean historical this is! Of course there are a couple of mysteries--but nothing too serious. The Duke's eldest daughter tries to get Jane Kimball to leave--but Jane is made of sterner stuff and will not easily be frightened by knocks and howling in her wardrobe! The eldest of the Duke's daughters wanted a REAL Governess--one who could teach her everything about when she would make her come out--Jane was more worried about teaching them all math, etc.

She manages to get the aloof Duke on her side (much to his eldests distress). And before too long--well sparks begin to fly but neither will do a thing about it!

Will Jane be able to overcome the resistance from the Duke's Mother and his daughter--read it to find out. It took me no time at all to read and I savored every second!

About the Book: (from Amazon)

After spending the last ten years following her late husband on campaign, the irrepressible Jane Kimball finds herself badly in need of a position to support herself. Marriage holds no appeal; she’s not likely to find a husband like her Jimmy again. But when Miss Thorn of the Fortune Employment Agency offers her a post with the Duke of Wey, Jane feels drawn to help the lonely widower with his three daughters. He may seem a bit aloof, but Miss Thorn’s cat Fortune approved of him. Why should Jane doubt a duke?

Alaric, Duke of Wey, commands his staff, his tenants, and the halls of Parliament, managing vast holdings in England and across the seas. Why is it he cannot manage his own daughters? As an old danger rears its head, he comes to rely on Jane’s practical nature, her outspoken ways to navigate the waters of fatherhood. And when necessity dictates he take a wife, thoughts turn to an unlikely governess who might make the perfect bride.

This sweet, clean Regency romance is the first in the Fortune’s Brides series.

Regina Scott started writing novels in the third grade. Thankfully for literature as we know it, she didn't actually sell her first novel until she'd learned a bit more about writing. After numerous short stories and articles in magazines and trade journals, and a good kick in the backside from her husband, she got serious about writing. Since then, she's had published more than 40 clean historical romances for adults and young adults. Her traditional romances have earned praised from reviewers and readers alike. Booklist calls her work "quietly compelling" and "impeccably written." Huntress Reviews says, "Regina Scott delivers," and "I will always buy a book with Regina Scott's name on it."

This sounds like it could be an interesting book. Honestly though should you ever doubt any woman? BTW I think her dress on the cover is pretty!

I'm sure daughters have been many a duke's undoing. No doubt!
