Janie Jansen was blind-but not from birth-she had a condition that brought it on slowly-but she never let it get her down. She learned to use her other senses to perfection. Of course it helped that she had a BFF from 3rd grade on who understood Janie's need for independence because her parents sure didn't! Once they went to college then graduated at a college not near their hometown in a small town in Virginia-they moved to NYC luckily finding separate apartments right next to one another.
Janie had trouble finding a job but finally was given a chance as an editor. She had wanted to be a journalist--but no one seemed to want to take a chance on a blind person. Well, Janie learned to take the subways (she was afraid of the cab drivers -and who could blame her!). There was a guy who used to come to her job--who Janie took to be a flirt. Then that fateful day she was leaving from work--was walked to the subway by this guy and proceeded to go home. The subway was deserted-or so it sounded to Janie. All of a sudden she tripped over the edge of the platform-she managed to get herself back up. As luck would have it Boyd was returning to find her as she had forgotten her phone.
These two had chemistry plus and the scenes do get pretty racy at times. It was interesting to read how these two overcame their insecurities-and they both did have some! They learned to trust each other and it will warm your heart. They had one big fight--but I will let you read the book to find out why!

Touched by Love, The Remingtons #6, Love in Bloom
Fiercely independent Janie Jansen has always believed there were worse things in life than being blind, and she's spent her life proving it. She's moved away from her overprotective parents, built a life in New York City, and is one of the top technical editors in her company. That is, until an unfortunate accident turns her life upside down and she's forced to give up the very independence she's worked so hard to achieve.
Firefighter Boyd Hudson pushed past his tragic past and is weeks away from accomplishing his ultimate dream―being accepted into medical school. His intense focus on his goal while working three jobs has taken its toll. With a trail of failed relationships behind him, Boyd is painstakingly aware of his limitations and avoids girlfriends completely―a difficult task given his attraction to one of his co-workers.
When Boyd comes to Janie's rescue, she's forced to accept his help, and Janie discovers there's more to the sexy-sounding office flirt than one-liners. Their connection deepens as Janie heals, but it turns out that Janie isn't the only one who needs healing. Boyd's painful past comes back to haunt him, threatening their relationship and forcing Boyd to reevaluate everything he knows about himself.
