Lawgivers: A Dystopian Techno-Thriller (The Lawgivers Series, Book 1) Another book that I could not stop reading until I was finished! Non-stop action in a world controlled by greed and by the lawyers who now act as judge, jury and executioner in partnership with a police officer: the pair are called Lawgivers. People's worth is determined by their social status and how much money they make which leaves only a very few in the top tier.

Sarah is an attorney who grew up in a family of con artists. Her personal integrity led her to "overcome" all that and it is her innate integrity which ultimately determines the fate of a major biotech firm. You really have to read this one-I don't want to say too much more--but it is definitely the good guys vs the bad guys--and greed vs conscience. This is the first book in this series and I will be reading the second.

About the Book: (from Amazon)

Welcome to the near future, where law enforcement has evolved. Attorneys are judge, jury and executioner in one. Police officers are free to investigate, interrogate and apprehend at will. Working together in pairs, they are called Lawgivers.

Like all attorneys, Sarah Jordan delivers justice with a katana blade. Moderate offenses result in the telltale scar of a Lawgiver sword through the palm. More serious crimes end with a blade through the heart.

When a young girl stumbles into their office after witnessing her father’s murder, Sarah and her cop partner Robert seek the murderer but soon find they’re on the trail of a vast conspiracy revolving around a new drug that vaccinates against all genetic diseases. Going up against its creator, Integrated Life Sciences, would be the case of a lifetime. But against ILS and its shadowy backers, even the law offers little protection.

About the Author: (from Amazon)

I'm an author based in Seattle, WA although I spent my youth in GA and Chapel Hill, NC.

I love the process of creating something out of nothing. For many years, I worked from home as a programmer. I'd have an idea for a new product, build it, and my business partner would sell it. After about ten years, I looked around for a change and studied scriptwriting and film directing before settling into writing novels.

I have an Economics degree from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC, where students run the various work crews in exchange for free room and board. While there, I also did the Marine Reserves, moving back and forth between the world of the military and a very liberal school where students raised our own food on a college farm.

I've written three screenplays and directed several short films and commercials. I'm a big fan of directors like Steven Soderbergh, Michael Mann, Alfonso Cueron and James Cameron. If I could ever write dialogue half as good as David Mamet, I'd be quite happy.

In August 2013, I published Einstein Must Die!, and it held the #1 spot on Amazon's Steampunk category for three weeks. It currently has a 4.5 star rating on Amazon with 70 reviews.

My second novel, Lawgivers, is a response to the current state of the US, where the middle class seems increasingly marginalized.

I'm married and live with my wife and two children in Seattle, WA. We love to travel, especially to Cozumel, New Orleans, Europe and Whistler, BC.

When not writing, I volunteer at my children's school and try to do Crossfit 3-4 times a week.
