Book Review-Forever His-The Stolen Bride Series #1-Shelly Thacker

Wednesday, January 1, 2014

I have always loved a romance set in medieval times--and if it has time travel all the better! This book has both! I read it in one sitting. Somehow I had never read anything by Shelly Thacker before but you can bet your bottom dollar I will be reading more. I actually got this book on a whim-at the moment the Kindle version is free (which is how I got it).

When Celine is whisked back in time during a moon eclipse to the year 1300 she has no idea what happened. All she knows is she is in bed with this big hunk of a man-Gaston who, when he thinks about it-can't remember bringing anyone to his bed the night before-not that that will bother him! However, Gaston has been in a MAJOR feud with a different group and the King has proclaimed that he must marry a girl from that group. Unfortunately that is who Gaston ultimately thinks Celine is--You can just about imagine what he puts her through! She, however maneuvers her way into the people of his castles hearts--To make matters worse-Celine had been shot and needs an operation which can only be preformed in her time zone--

Will Celine and Gaston eventually get it together? Will Celine be able to time travel back to have the bullet fragment removed from her back? I can't tell you--it would give away the story!!

On New Year's Eve, she tumbles 700 years back in time--and into the bed of a darkly dangerous knight.

Sir Gaston de Varennes wanted a docile bride who would fit into his plans for vengeance and justice, but a trick of time finds him married to a thoroughly modern American lady who turns his castle, his life, and his heart upside down. Will her desperate secret tear them apart after only a few bittersweet weeks of stolen passion--or will they conquer mistrust, treachery, and time itself to discover a love that spans the centuries?

Read a couple of chapters (that's why I went and got this book!)

I'm not one for explicit books but the rest sounds interesting.

I don't read erotica/sexually explicit stuff. But love the time travel aspect!

I seriously grew up on romance novels. Probably not the best thing to do when you are 16 with nothing to do. Lets just say I had very high expectations in relationship after reading over 50 different romance novels. Now days I don't read many romance novels. I'm more of a suspend kind of girl.

I have never read a romance set in medieval times. I don't read a lot of romance anything but maybe I need to read this.

I love the story layout of this book. It sounds like a great read. I love the time travel aspect and the need to overcome the lead characters differences to find the romance.

I love when the free kindle books pay off. That is how I find a lot of great books by authors I have not read their books yet. This sounds like a great book, I will check it out and see if I can figure out the e-reader I now have.

Nice review. I am also always in for a nice medieval book. For some reason the drama is so much better.

I agree with you, as a romance genre fan, that reading a romance novel set in medieval times is really romantic.

One of my favorite time travel/romance novel series is being made into a mini-series on Starz and I'm very excited about it.

It's always interesting to imagine what would happen when time lines collide. Probably why I like Doctor Who so much.

Very interesting story line with all of the time travel and needing medical help. It amazes me how writers come up with these ideas.

This one sounds like a great read! Romance isn't my favorite genre, but historical romance wins me over every time. I agree, throw in some time travel and I'm in!
