Temptations Cat Treats

No, this is not a sponsored post!

Does you cat LOVE Temptation Cat Treats -bordering on addiction? If I don't give Baby a bunch of them in the morning before I go to work, a bunch when I get home from work and just before bedtime--she turns into


And she seems to love all the flavors (except the fishy ones)--Her favorite is chicken-but then she stood guard the other night at the oven meowing to tell me to get my butt in there and start serving dinner!! I was reheating some chicken.

I can not seem to keep enough of those treats in the house!! One of the people I work with agrees--her cats are addicted also!! Yesterday she picked up a couple of bags for me cause I had run out and she had to go get something for her cats that she had run out of!! We are slaves I tell you-------

Meanwhile I had ordered $54.00 worth of these (in various flavors) yesterday over the internet--free shipping--they promised 1 - 2 day delivery--I sure hope so--at least by Monday--

Today I have to go out and get her more wet food--------------this cat eats better then me!!

I even went so far to see if I could buy stock in this company--they are privately held--so no stock----

Any other people out there owned by their cats who HAVE to have Temptation Treats on hand for immediate gratification?

My bosses birthday is 10 days before mine. I always try to find something for him and end up just saying Happy Birthday. Well I was browsing the internet and came upon Gizoo
! Now understand, my boss is ALWAYS traveling for business--all over the USA and the world. He is also one of those guys who has every new electronic what have you on the market!! So when I saw this world adapter--a light bulb went off in my head--this would be the perfect gift for him!! Unfortunately this company is located in England and will only deliver there-yes I attempted to purchase it-so if any of you are from England I'd really recommend this site

Heartbreakingly real, but heartwarmingly sincere, Cafeteria Covenant presents simple truths and Emeigh painstakingly delivers this message as a faithful witness: relationship with God is a choice, available to all who choose it. The book moves the reader through 93 pages, chronicling experience, expounding on parables and prayers and concluding in the revelation of the New Covenant, a covenant of choice.

Emeigh tells of the abuse of power and doctrinal error that kept her effectively silenced for forty years, citing her experience as an abused wife sent back into the ring for round after round, and outlining the repeated rigid restrictions, rudeness, and insults she encountered in exchange for offering her vocal and songwriting talent. Still, in spite of her ransacked self-esteem, Emeigh saw something higher than the church walls and the God they claimed to encompass. She sought and found a rock-solid relationship with the Almighty, whose message she learned to trust through it all. She leaves out the gory details and changes the names, but the facts remain: something has gone terribly wrong with the Church in general.

Emeigh makes every effort to be civil, but doesn’t apologize if she steps on some toes. And, while she realizes her book is controversial, even using as a reference a new Bible translation, The Voice, she believes it’s time for the truth.

Every woman has her own definition for a hero. For some it's the knight-in-shining-armor who sweeps her off her feet. For others it's the man who's kind to her kids. And, of course, there are the heroes we can all agree on, the men who rush into battle for our country or into burning buildings to save lives.

For Lynn Morrow, the single mom struggling to feed her kids and on the verge of losing her home in Where Azaleas Bloom (MIRA Books, September), it's a man of quiet strength who stands by with help whenever she needs it, but encourages her to find her own capacity to cope with whatever life tosses her way.

Mitch Franklin first appeared as a contractor who had to deal with a whole trio of strong,decisive Sweet Magnolias way back in Stealing Home, book one of the series. He held his own with Maddie, Helen and Dana Sue, but we never really got to see his sensitive, caring side.

Now a widower with two college-age sons, he's at loose ends when he connects with Lynn . . .the girl who got away. With so many terrible things going on in her life, it would be easy for this hero to swoop in and save the day. Instead, he's wise enough to help Lynn find her own way, to help her prove to herself that she's strong and capable and a flat-out terrific mom. And if he earns a ton of brownie points along the way with his kindnesses to her kids, so much the better.

I think the message here, if there is one, is that heroes come in all shapes and sizes and personalities. Not all are bold and flashy. Not all are Superman. Some are just the guy next door who sees what needs to get done and does it, who loves deeply and wisely. I hope there's someone with Mitch's strength and caring in your life. And if you haven't found your hero yet, take a look around. He may be closer than you think!

Sweet Magnolias-Catching Fireflies Guest Post & Review

Like the author of this timely and much needed book "Catching Fireflies" I could have been a target of bullying!! Always over weight and I had double vision--imagine 2 softballs coming at you!! I was never picked willingly for sports--but then I rarely made it to gym class!! I was a very inventive excuse maker back then!! I still shiver when I think of going up on a trampoline-the class made extra sure to be around that trampoline in a tight circle! When we were forced to do the 100 yard dash as part of "passing" gym--my whole class was there cheering me on! Yes, I made it (still don't know how). Small town living has it's drawbacks--but I, for one, am grateful for having been brought up in one--of course WAY back then--kids were brought up to respect others. My personal stand on bullying--
"NO TOLERANCE"

Way, way back I was the fat kid. I dreaded walking into a classroom or attempting to climb a rope in gym class or waiting to be the last kid chosen for the team. Amazingly, though, despite the unthinking cruelty of kids, I was never bullied. In fact I recall a conversation my mom had with a teacher when deciding I would not have to go through the potential torture of camp to be a school safety patrol officer. The teacher expressed her own amazement at how seldom I was ever
taunted by classmates.

In other words, I lucked out. I was merely terminally shy back then, more a victim of my own insecurities than the cruelty of bullies. However, those days did make me incredibly sensitive to the impact bullying can have on young people. Recent news stories have only solidified my determination to do whatever little bit i can do to shine a light on these unnecessary tragedies.

Bullying is the focus of my latest Sweet Magnolias novel, Catching Fireflies (August, MIRA Book). In this story an alert high school teacher and a pediatrician, who've had their own devastating experiences with bullying, spot the signs in a high school student. Through their attempts to help this victim of cyber-bullying, they draw together not only the Sweet Magnolias, but the entire town of Serenity, South Carolina, to battle back, to say to the world that bullying is not acceptable here.

Though I pray that bullying is not an issue for your kids or in your community, I fear that's being overly optimistic. Therefore I hope every one of you will become more alert to the signs that your child is being bullied or more open to the possibility that your son or daughter could be guilty of bullying someone else. Parents, teachers, and pediatricians may be the first line of defense in putting an end to bullying among our young people.

Until bullying -- whether it's mistakenly called a prank, hijinks or a childhood right of passage -- is eradicated, the possibility of a tragedy is too high. Please, please, do whatever you can to ensure that the young people in your world are safe and can grow up with the sense of security and self-worth that they deserve.

Midnight Promises by Sherryl Woods-Guest Post & Review

I just finished reading Midnight Promises--what a wonderful book! Sherryl Woods describes the trials and tribulations of 2nd marriages and how they can and do manage to all work out-even when the couple are of different ethnic backgrounds. This book is about life-pure and not always so simple.

Whether you're a longtime reader of my Sweet Magnolias series or just discovering it with the latest trilogy -- Midnight Promises (July, MIRA Books), Catching Fireflies (August, MIRA Books) and Where Azaleas Bloom (September, MIRA Books) -- you probably know that these books are about the deep bonds of women, whether lifelong friends or newly-acquainted.

The original Sweet Magnolias -- Maddie, Helen and Dana Sue -- were childhood friends who stuck by each other through thick and thin, but over the course of the series, just like all of us in real life, they've welcomed newcomers to the fold. They've even become multi-generational as their daughters and even a few local seniors have been included in their famed margarita nights.

For someone like me, who grew up in a suburb of Washington, DC where military families and, therefore, friends came and went, friendships have always been vitally important in my life. I hang onto the people I love for dear life, keeping in touch despite time and distance.

Lately, though, I've been through a period when the loss of dear friends has been more permanent. I have to say it's come as a disconcerting shock to realize that I'm now at an age when I'm more likely to lose someone to death than a cross-country move.

This is a transition we all must face eventually. As a minister friend points out to me, the cycle of life is inevitable. That doesn't mean we have to like it, but we do have to learn to deal with the grief and move on. And it's at times like these that the friends left behind mean more than ever. They provide support and comfort and much-needed laughter amid the tears.

Over the years I've been around many people who've lived well into their 80s and 90s. One thing they've all agreed on is that outliving their contemporaries is tough. From them, I've learned to make a decided effort to include a lot of younger people in my circle of friends, just as the Sweet Magnolias have done in these books. It's something you might want to consider as well.

Because as our lives inevitably change, as people come and go whatever the reason, friendships matter more than ever. I hope your circle of friends is large, that it includes young and old, and that you remember each and every day how those you love enrich your life. In other words, I wish you your own group of Sweet Magnolias!

Apple gadgets like the iPad, iMac, iPod and iPhone are definitely worth buying if you have the money for it. Apple products are known for their quality, reliability, great interface, solid performance, stability, posh, and price. Thus, when buying an Apple product, getting it from a more affordable source is always a concern and thus many are torn between getting the gadget from the more expensive, but official,
Apple Store or the more affordable Best Buy. To help you decide, here are some of the main differences between the two.

One advantage of the Apple Store over Best Buy is its option to allow customers to customize the specifications of their Apple gadgets like,

IN CONGRESS, July 4, 1776.
The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America,
When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.
He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.
He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:
For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:
For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences
For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:
For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:
For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.
He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.
He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.
He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.
He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.
In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.
Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our Brittish brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.
We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do.
